Glori Hong, President acting of Solomon Island Basketball Federation, is in the United States to participate in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) on “Sports Management and Youth Leadership,” with fellow experts from the East Asia Pacific region. They will explore how the United States integrates sports into educational systems, promotes athletes’ health and safety, and builds economically sound programs that promote the commercial, academic, and social benefits of youth sports.
We wish Gloria a productive experience in the United States and look forward to hearing about her experiences and ideas when she returns to Honiara!

🏀✨ What a week it’s been for our participants and coaches!
Hoops For Equality sessions at Kukum Valley Adventist School, Mbua Valley Community High School, Palm Drive International School, and community sessions at the Multi-Purpose Hall highlight our shared commitment to fostering community spirit and inclusion.
Through drills and games, we saw teamwork and respect flourish, making participants feel valued and encouraging continued growth on the court. Together, we really showed that basketball is a powerful tool for building equality and community. 🏆🙌

As our International Safe Sport Day campaign continues, we're highlighting the importance of creating sporting environments where every child feels safe, included and supported.
Today's spotlight is on another Team Up Safeguarding Champion, Siale Bain-Vete, Senior Manager, National Federations & Sport Oceania at FIBA, the lead partner for our Basketball for Good program. Siale reminds us that if sport is truly for every child, then every child must be safe in it.
