Team Russia at the World Juniors - Молодёжная Сборная России

29/12/2012

3rd win for Team Russia -- 7-0 over Germany. Nice natural hat-trick for Kosov in the 3rd period.
Next up - Canada on New Years Eve. Should be a good game!

Any thoughts or predictions? Let us know =)

A win, not the most electrifying, but a hard-fought team win.
Looking forward to tomorrow's game vs. Team Germany!

Tough win...sloppy start...but a win's a win in the end (although we lost a point duet to overtime...) =)

Let's hope the guys can work more as a team, and develop more chemistry in general, because today's kind performance will not work out against the strong teams of USA and Canada in our group.

What are your thoughts on the game?
Do you like Coach Varnakov's tactics and combination of players (compared to Bragin past 2 years)?

Some thoughts:

-Kucherov-Grigorenko-Slepyshev line looked really good (especially Kucherov, who could have scored 3-4 goals today)

-the Yakupov-Khokhlachev-Sigarev line was way too quiet. Yakupov needs more offense and aggressiveness to his game

-both Slovak goals that were scored were because of stupid, unnecessary mistakes of our defencemen, so Vasilevsky had a relatively good game in goal (32 saves)

-the PP needs much more work, especially in attempts to enter attacking zone
