We’re very happy to officially welcome Buhurt Greece - National Organisation as the newest country joining the Buhurt International community, following a unanimous vote of our member National Organizations.

Over the past year, Greek buhurt has been developing under the guidance of one of the most valued and experienced coaches in our community, Mathias Søjborg, together with his team, Iron Wolves DK 🇩🇰.

Mathias has already travelled to Greece for dedicated training sessions, while Greek fighters have been welcomed in Denmark to train and compete, building a strong connection between the two communities along the way.

Now that journey enters its next chapter.

With Greece officially joining Buhurt International, Greek buhurt begins its journey within BI and we’re already looking forward to what comes next.

For their upcoming event in Greece, the Greek organizers have chosen to exclusively invite Buhurt International representatives and their Danish mentors from the Iron Wolves as their international guests, continuing the cooperation that has been developing over the past year.

We’re incredibly grateful for their trust and invitation, and very much looking forward to being there to support this next step in person under BI banner.

A new country, a growing community, and plenty still ahead!

📸 The Medieval Things

The Mace and Seal of Athenry 🇮🇪

A little bit of BI history was made in Ireland this past weekend as The Mace and Seal of Athenry became the first Buhurt International event held in the country!

Set against the incredible backdrop of Athenry Castle, the tournament welcomed fighters from across Ireland, the UK and as far as Canada for a full day of duelling, competition and community.

A huge congratulations to all medalists, and to Patrick Cory Depaulo and Ellen Twomey, who received the Outstanding Fighter Awards not only for their performances, but for the support, sportsmanship and camaraderie they showed throughout the event.

And a massive well done to 1316 - Medieval Fight Club and everyone involved behind the scenes for bringing BI to Ireland for the first time and setting such a strong foundation for what comes next ⚔️

The first one is officially in the books, hopefully the first of many!
