Next Friday we check our 10th Jazz Concert 🍓

So we’re celebrating with a show marked by the love for jazz, and an obsession with craftsmanship, expressed through a conversation between two different generations of young musicians. Stefan Stoianovici and Stefan Coman dive into the waves of improvisation, using the classic saxophone/piano duo format to present standards reinterpreted in their own style alongside original compositions.

🎹 Ștefan Stoianovici is a pianist and composer active in both the jazz and contemporary classical scenes. Known primarily as a bandleader leading his own quartet, he has also collaborated as a sideman and co-leader with various other well-known local ensembles. His music often bridges improvisation with classical forms, though he also displays a strong affinity for straight-ahead jazz. Ștefan has additionally written music for the theater, as well as orchestral concert pieces conducted by Cristian Măcelaru and Cristian Mandeal, and jazz arrangements performed by the Radio Big Band.

🎷 Ștefan Coman is a young Romanian saxophonist and composer, considered one of the most promising talents of the new generation in local jazz. At just 17 years old, the sound and complexity of his improvisational language reflect a rare maturity, already recognized internationally through invitations received from institutions such as Berklee College of Music. He has developed a distinct sound that blends contemporary jazz, neo-soul elements, modern groove, and classic R&B and blues influences

THE BEAT QUARTET offers a fresh take on the classic jazz repertoire, reimagining tunes by greats like Hank Mobley, Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, as well as bringing new original pieces. Born spontaneously in the rehearsal room, the project aims to bring a new approach to SWING JAZZ to the local scene, heavily influenced by the raw energy of NYC. 🔥
