An introduction for anyone new here 🤙🏽

1. Qualified as a Royal Navy PTI and started my journey as a coach

2. Still to this day the hardest thing I’ve done and extremely proud of.

3. Coached boxing from grassroots level to open class up and down the uk.

4. Built Boxing communities, teams and training camps.

5. Started doing CrossFit when no one knew what it was.

6. Left the military and moved across the world to Qatar.

7. Turned my passion for CrossFit into a business and CrossFit Oryx was born. My experience in sports, community building and professional development flourished.

8. Participating in all types of events with friends, reinforcing my opinion that training in a community really is the secret sauce.

9. Had the opportunity to work with and coach with some of the best in the game.

10. Now married and started a family, giving purpose to the chaos of life.

11. Covid forced us outside, This was an amazing time as training alone outside turned into 20+ neighbours turning up at my house everyday.

12. I excited the CrossFit business, strange time and mentally was very hard to deal with.

13. Reinventing myself, after running a business with an amazing team for all those years was I really ready to do it all again ?!? . After 1 minute of doubt, we got back up.

14. 2021, still loved competing and finished 4th at the pheonix games missing podium by a hair.

15. My other passion is reignited, Boxing… something I had been involved in as athlete and coach and follow as a fan was back in the fold. One of my closest friends and I both with a huge passion for boxing started our boxing club in 2021 with a mission to grow boxing in Qatar and help kids enjoy the same exposure to boxing we had.

16. 2024 FitHaus joined the team, a functional fitness studio that focuses on helps people fall in love with training in a supportive community. A key principle that’s followed me from the military through life is community, especially in an expat place where strangers become friends and friends feel like family.

17. Coaching people is my passion

18. Ironman Jacksonville ~ also a guiding principle is to motivate those who follow me.

It was all a dream….

Wait no it wasn’t, but it was a dream chapter!

CrossFit Oryx, my first baby, my first business 😍

We had an amazing run with memories that made 1000’s of people happy, just ask around in Qatar , we had the rip.

Nothing lasts forever, not all failures are permanent and not all successes continue.. enjoy the moments, cherish the friendships and learn a ton from all around you…

Lastly don’t take anything or anyone for granted ❤️

No matter what that little voice is saying to you, squash the inner bitch and come…

I guarantee you will leave 10x happier than you where on arrival and 20x happier than of you had just not come.

So come 🤙🏽

How to Survive an All-Inclusive Holiday (Without Undoing Months of Gym Work) 🍹🏋️‍♂️

1. Treat the buffet like Tinder. Have a good look around before committing. Don’t marry the first tray of chips you see.

2. Protein first. Fill up on meat, fish and eggs before you “accidentally” eat half a pizza.

3. Walk everywhere. If the pool is 100 metres away… congratulations, that’s now your cardio.

4. The dessert rule: If it’s not incredible, it’s not worth the calories. Beige cake? Move on.

5. Alcohol maths: Every cocktail requires one glass of water. Your future self will send you a thank-you card.

6. Train just enough to earn breakfast… not to punish breakfast. A 30-minute workout is plenty. You’re on holiday, not preparing for the Olympics.

7. Don’t drink calories before noon. Coffee first.
Piña Coladas can wait… probably.

8. Remember: The buffet opens again in three hours. This is not your last meal before winter.

9. Aim for memories, not food comas. Nobody has ever said, “The highlight of my holiday was that seventh bread roll.”

10. Relax. One week won’t ruin months of hard work… unless you decide every meal is an eating competition against the Germans.
