احتفاءً باليوم الدولي للشباب، تحت شعار (حياة مختلفة، أحلام مشتركة) الذي يصادف 12 أغسطس 2026، نظمت وزارة الرياضة والشباب، بالتعاون مع اللجنة الأولمبية القطرية ومشاركة من أبطال الأدعم ريم الشرشني وعثمان بولعراس، جلسة شبابية بعنوان “أثر الرياضة على الصحة النفسية للشباب وذلك في إطار الجهود المشتركة لتعزيز الوعي بأهمية الصحة النفسية لدى الشباب، وتسليط الضوء على الدور الحيوي الذي تؤديه الرياضة في تحسين جودة الحياة وتعزيز الرفاه النفسي.

In celebration of International Youth Day, observed on 12 August 2026 under the theme “Different Lives, Shared Dreams,” the Ministry of Sports and Youth, in collaboration with the Qatar Olympic Committee and with the participation of Team Qatar champions Reem Al Sharshani and Othman Boularas, organized a youth session entitled “The Impact of Sport on Youth Mental Health.”

The session was held as part of joint efforts to raise awareness of the importance of youth mental health and highlight the vital role of sport in improving quality of life and promoting mental well-being.

Team Qatar champions Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan have been crowned Asia’s Best Men’s Beach Volleyball Players at the Asian Volleyball Confederation Awards.

This recognition celebrates the outstanding performances and major achievements of the Team Qatar duo at both the Asian and international levels, further cementing their status among the continent’s elite beach volleyball stars.

إنجاز تاريخي جديد للمرأة القطرية والعربية

بعد نجاح أسطورة تسلق الجبال الشيخة أسماء بنت ثاني آل ثاني في تسلّق 11 قمة جبال يتجاوز ارتفاعها 8,000 متر، لتواصل مسيرتها الاستثنائية نحو إكمال أعلى قمم العالم، وذلك بتسلقها قمة جبل غاشربروم 2 في سلسلة جبال قراقرم، على الحدود بين باكستان والصين.

وتكتسب هذه القمم أهمية استثنائية لأنها تقع ضمن ما يُعرف بمنطقة الموت، حيث ينخفض الأكسجين بصورة حادة وتصبح الظروف شديدة الخطورة.

A new historic achievement for Qatari and Arab women

Qatari mountaineering legend Sheikha Asma bint Thani Al Thani has successfully summited 11 of the world’s 14 mountains exceeding 8,000 metres, continuing her extraordinary journey towards completing the world’s highest peaks.

Her latest achievement was reaching the summit of Gasherbrum II, located in the Karakoram mountain range on the border between Pakistan and China.

These peaks hold exceptional significance, as they rise into what is known as the “Death Zone,” where oxygen levels drop dramatically and conditions become extremely dangerous.
