Qatar’s Amiri Diwan has announced the passing of the Father Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who died on Sunday, 12 July, at the age of 74.
“With hearts steadfast in faith in God’s decree and destiny, the Amiri Diwan mourns the great loss to the nation of the late—may God have mercy on him—His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who passed away this morning, 27 Muharram 1448 AH, corresponding to 12 July 2026, at the age of nearly 74 years.

Lankan Strikers started their journey with a fantastic 33-run victory over United Strikers in the Qualifying Round and booked a place in the Quarter Finals.

In the Quarter Final against Fast and 11, LS won the toss and chose to bowl first. Our bowlers put on a brilliant display, restricting the opposition to 114 runs.

Although the result didn't go our way, every player gave their best under difficult weather conditions. The fight, commitment, and passion shown by the LS Boys were outstanding.

This is not the end it's another step forward. Thank you to everyone who supported us throughout the tournament.
