Zafran Cricket Club has set its standards remarkably high after qualifying for the prestigious QCA T10 Tournament. The competition features the best 16 teams in Qatar, all of whom earn their place through the highly competitive QCA T20 Tournament, where over 54 teams battle for a coveted spot.

By securing qualification, Zafran Cricket Club became the first Kashmiri team to reach this elite tournament, creating history and inspiring many other brotherly Kashmiri teams across Qatar to dream bigger and compete at the highest level.

𝐀 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲

Playing at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium was a new and exciting experience for the entire squad. After gaining valuable experience in the first two matches, Zafran entered the third game with a better understanding of the conditions, including the pitch, dew, and movement under lights.

Zafran won the toss and elected to bat first. Junaid led the charge with a superb 72 off just 36 balls, helping Zafran post a competitive 113/5 in 10 overs.

The bowlers backed up the batting effort with disciplined performances, taking wickets at regular intervals and restricting the opposition to 78/7 to seal a comfortable 35-run victory. Junaid was deservedly named Player of the Match for his match-winning innings.

Zafran Cricket Club produced a dominant all-round performance to defeat Serendib Squad by 74 runs in their 20-over clash at KREEQ Barwa Village, Doha. Zafran’s innings was built on a solid opening partnership of 92 runs, with Sumit scoring a fluent 51 and Junaid Hassan contributing 42. The momentum continued in the middle order as Huzaib Lone scored 40, supported well by Assad’s quick 34, helping Zafran post a mammoth total of 231/5.

In reply, Serendib Squad failed to gain control of the chase thanks to disciplined bowling from Captain Azhar Hussain and a magical spell from Mubashir, who was awarded Best Bowler for his figures of 2 wickets for 28 runs in his allotted 4 overs.

Huzaib Lone capped off a memorable outing by scoring 40 runs off just 17 balls at a strike rate of 235.29 and also claiming 2 wickets for 28 runs in 4 overs, earning him the Man of the Match award.

It was the first game of the 3-match series and the first match of the new season between QCCQ and Zafran.
QCCQ won the toss and decided to bat first. They scored 144 runs in 20 overs, losing 7 wickets.

Zafran chased the target successfully, scoring 145 in 18.2 overs with 7 wickets down, and won the match by 3 wickets.

A good performance was also seen from QCCQ’s wicket keeper Tajweez , who scored 38 runs from 44 balls and took a sharp catch behind the wickets.

Zafran also welcomed two new players to the squad, Azhar (Vicky) and Majid Sofi, who received their debut caps in this match.
Vicky impressed everyone with his fast and accurate bowling, taking one crucial wicket, while Majid Sofi bowled with great control and showed solid potential on debut.
