Brand new windows installed at Casa do Lagar! They make the mill lighter inside and much cosier for spring and autumn visits. Also we can see the beautiful views out over the valley more clearly than ever.

Santa Luzia in Viana do Castelo. A pretty awesome place for a cuppa.

It's now possible to walk along the river Minho from Caminha to Vila Nova de Cerveira. The 12km route starts beside the road but soon reaches a beautiful path that follows the river. And you can catch a train back to Caminha at the end (but do check train times first). A wonderful day trip!

Even though we have August heat all day and balmy evenings, temperatures drop at night so it's comfortable for sleeping. And early risers can get a beautiful walk in the woods around the mill before it gets too hot...with a handful of wild blackberries for breakfast!

Glorious weather for swimming in the rivers and mountain pools.
