From 25 September to 2 October, Vilamoura will host the ILCA 6 Men’s World Championship, bringing together the world’s leading sailors for a week of high-level international competition.

The championship will be raced in one of Europe’s most established Olympic sailing venues, known for reliable conditions, technical race areas, and world-class event operations.

80 days remain until the first start. Preparation continues on and off the water as athletes and teams build towards the championship.

The Youth Portugal Grand Prix reflects our commitment to the development of young sailors and to strengthening the Olympic pathway.
Racing in the 29er, 420, ILCA 6 and ILCA 4 classes, athletes will compete in Vilamoura ahead of the Youth Sailing World Championships 2026.
Beyond racing, the event takes place in a true high-performance environment, as Olympic campaign sailors and international teams prepare in Vilamoura for the Portugal Grand Prix.
This creates a valuable opportunity for young athletes to share the venue with elite sailors and gain direct exposure to the standards of Olympic-level preparation.

9th Portugal Grand Prix – Round 1
The 9th edition of the Portugal Grand Prix returns to Vilamoura, reinforcing its position within the Olympic sailing calendar.

Objective:
-competitive benchmarking
-early-season performance evaluation
-international fleet preparation
