We all know what it feels like to be torn in different directions.🌪️
Between fear and desire, between responsibility and self-protection, between wanting to stay open and wanting to withdraw… Life keeps on presenting dilemmas, and grounds for inner conflicts. The Bhagavad Gītā gives this universal experience a name: Arjuna, the warrior who finds himself paralysed on the battlefield, unsure how to act.
His dilemma is our own. Both Yoga and meditation practices teach us that the way forward isn’t found by fighting against our experience, but by learning to meet it with awareness, with compassion, and with more steadiness. Practice provide us with a space to cultivate those qualities, so that our mind and our heart can feel a little more spacious, to experience life as it is, with all its contradictions and its paradoxes🌼

Feel free to bring something to share (snacks, sweets, tea…), or come just as you are. We look forward to seeing you there 🧡⭕️

What is the true strength of the warrior?

We often associate a warrior with armor, with defense, or with a hardness that keeps the world at a protective distance. But the warrior of the heart moves differently.
Both Yogic and Buddhist traditions teach us that true strength isn’t found in holding everything together or in building walls, but in the courage to stay open, even when everything around us feels uncertain or overwhelming. It is a capacity to meet life fully, without hardening against it.

When we explore this path, we can ask yourself: where does this kind of strength live in the body? How does it settle the mind? Through practice, we learn to ground ourselves in the present moment, trusting our capacity to remain open. Falling short maybe, but trying again, every day.

📆 This theme will be at the heart of our annual retreat : 24-28 July, « The Warrior of the Heart », in South of France. Rooted in both Yoga and Buddhist teachings, the retreat is an opportunity to explore what it means to live with an open heart, supported by practice and community.❤️

🧘‍♀️The breath as teacher🌀
The greatest teacher of impermanence is already with us, right now and at any moment, asking nothing in return: the breath.
We can follow it, watch it rise and fall. We can listen to it and feel the moment an inhale reaches its fullness, and then, without any effort, releases. Each breath arises, lives briefly, and dissolves. The next one comes, unrepeatable, its own complete event.
The breath never tries to hold on. It doesn’t mourn what just passed or rehearse what comes next. It simply moves, constant and ephemeral at once.
When we truly follow the breath in practice, we have a chance to witness the ephemeral quality of everything that is manifested. Every sensation, every thought, every moment of experience moves exactly like this: arising, dwelling, passing.

Come back to your breath : take a deep breath in, and soft long exhale. The Agora Yoga team wishes you a beautiful day 🧡 with Sonia Ama Yoga Ada Moisescu Carolina • Yoga Teacher • Crystal Sound Bowl Practitioner Isabella ~ Yoga

✨ Purusha, Prakriti & the Nature of Change

What if change isn’t disrupting our life, but is the full expression of it?
In Yogic philosophy, everything we experience (our thoughts, emotions, bodies, relationships, and the changing seasons), all belongs to Prakriti, the realm of nature in constant motion. Where change is the rule, not the exception.
Yet it is often so hard to accept that what we like will never stay the same ! That whatever our plan is, our projections, life will keep moving a different way. So we often resist it, and struggle to embrace the flow of life with all its uncertainties.

The practice is to remember Purusha, the pure awareness within that can witness it all. The stillness that remains, beneath every change and shifts.
The part of us that notices the thoughts, but isn’t the thoughts. That feels the emotions, but isn’t defined by them.

The Yoga practice helps us to feel and embrace life’s currents fully, with trust and without losing ourselves in them.

Can you be fully present with the flow of life, while staying connected to the stillness beneath it?

🪷Anicca
In Buddhist philosophy, anicca, or impermanence, describes a simple but radical truth: all conditioned phenomena are constantly arising, changing, and passing away. Nothing that appears stays, and nothing that fades is truly lost.
This is an invitation to wake up to life as it actually is, rather than the fixed version we wish it to be.
When we truly understand impermanence, clinging begins to loosen and we get a chance to see that the anxiety we hold today will change form. That the joy we are chasing was already here, briefly, and will return differently. Resisting change is like trying to hold the tide.🌊

What the practice asks of us is the willingness to remain present through both arrival and departure, without needing either to be permanent. In that willingness, something opens. A lightness that doesn’t depend on conditions staying still 🌱
