What if one conversation could change everything? 🤝

For Michael Mounzatela, dialogue is a way of life.

As a journalist in the Central African Republic, he has spent years using the power of words to challenge hate speech, counter misinformation and help rebuild trust between communities.
KAICIID supported training became a turning point in his journey.

Today, he continues empowering journalists and promoting dialogue where it matters most.💙

The Power of Storytelling in ClimateAction 🌏

Stories have the power to inspire action, strengthen communities, and drive lasting change.

Through the Dialogue in Action initiative, KAICIID brought together young leaders and mentors in Bangkok to strengthen youth leadership for climate action across Southeast Asia. 🤝

By developing their storytelling skills, participants explored how personal experiences can become powerful tools to engage communities, foster resilience and inspire collective action for our shared future.

Dialogue is not a soft add-on to diplomacy. It is a practical tool for building trust and
social cohesion. 🤝

Reflecting on our Ambassadorial Roundtable with the Asian Diplomatic Corps in Lisbon, this
KAICIID working exchange co-hosted alongside the Embassy of the Republic of Korea focused on addressing critical, real world policy challenges. Key discussions centered on countering online hate speech, enhancing urban governance, and scaling youth-led initiatives. 🌏

This roundtable marks a decisive step toward deeper diplomatic cooperation and long-term peacebuilding across the region. 🕊️

🌍 The "Hardware" & "Software" of Migration

The most difficult borders are the invisible ones dividing our societies. Yesterday in Rome, we at KAICIID hosted a panel at the European Academy of Religion 2026 to discuss why migration and asylum policies alone are not enough. 📜
While governments focus on the "hardware" of laws, societies urgently need the "software" of values ethics, and human dignity to maintain . 🤝

"Policies can regulate movement and status, but they cannot by themselves generate belonging, trust and mutual appreciation between newcomers and hosting communities. Religious leaders are often the ones who build brudges across divides."

We heard from experts and got some inspiring takeaways:
🧠 Lessons from the Western Balkans: Rebuilding trust after conflict offers vital insights for European integration.
🚀 Beyond Charity: Moving toward active interreligious engagement to empower migrants as active contributors to the common good.
🕊️ Human Dignity First: Preserving human dgnity must always remain a priority over legal status alone.

Thank you to all the scholars, researchers and faith leaders who joined us to translate shared values into concrete local action!

Today we turn the first page of a new chapter for KAICIID.

And we really mean it.

At Universidade Católica Portuguesa, we hosted a roundtable on religious manuscripts and their power to support peaceful coexistence, bringing together some of the most respected experts in the field.

The discussion included scholars and specialists from Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Mohammed V University, the Vatican Apostolic Library and ICESCO in English with expertise across Islamic manuscripts, Arabic and Judaic philology, Eastern Christianity, theology and religious studies.

The work is still at its first pages, but two things became clear.

First, knowledge must be shared across languages and cultures. Manuscripts in Hebrew, Latin and Arabic remind us that dialogue between civilisations is not only a modern aspiration. It is part of our shared history.

Second, we must involve young people — in academia, in public life and in the communities where dialogue is needed most. They will be the ones to preserve this memory and allow it to speak to the present.

Manuscripts are heritage. They are also memory. But we need to go further: towards dialogue that endures, rooted in historical knowledge and adapted to today’s realities.

Thank you to Universidade Católica Portuguesa for taking a crucial part in the event and for hosting us and to all participants who helped open this important conversation.

🤝 Strengthening Ties for Interreligious Dialogue in Portugal

On June 22, KAICIID had the distinct honor of integrating a cerimony with the President of the Republic of Portugal, António José Seguro during the Day for Interreligious Dialogue.

The moment was incredibly constructive and insightful, marking a significant milestone for our us KAICIID since moving to Portugal in 2022.

This inspiring dialogue reinforces Portugal's path toward joining our Council of Parties and deeply strengthens our both internationally and nationally within our incredible host
country.

On World Refugee Day, we celebrate the resilience of refugees and the power of communities that welcome them. 🤝

True inclusion goes beyond legal status. It is about creating spaces of trust and mutual understanding. When Reza arrived in Serbia alone and unable to speak the language, it was Maja’s from the Jesuit Refugee Service Serbia, patience and empathy that broke down the walls of isolation. Through the Network for Dialogue, KAICIID supports grassroots initiatives that transform suspicion into hope, art and belonging.

When we choose dialogue over division, we build a shared future where HumanDignity has no passport.

How is your community fostering inclusion today, let us know below? 💬

Why does interreligious dialogue struggle to reach the public you might wonder?

1️⃣Dialogue is becoming more political
2️⃣Limited dissemination of positive outcomes
3️⃣Media often then to focus on conflict over collaboration
