When Darren first started with myself he was feeling constantly heavy & fatigued
He felt like he’d let his standards slip
He’d been stuck in this position for 12 months and not for the lack of trying
He’d tried the hit & hope, generic programming approach but none of it took into account his life was different now that he had a young lad
The difficulties Darren faced were
He wasn’t sure how to set up his diet and he wanted to have a family friendly diet so that he could have dinner with the family and still be able to go on date nights
He was also working long hours in a office style job, time was very limited
Darren’s issue was absolutely not work ethic however, he was more than prepared to get up early & do what he needed to do
So here’s what we did
We utilised a flexible dieting approach and matched this up with our lean lifestyle system so that Darren had simple targets to aim, and usually left a larger amount of calories for his evening meal
As well as having total flexibility to adjust his calories across the week so come the weekend, he could go out for a steak and some wine with his Mrs whilst still losing fat
When it came to his training, we utilised a 3x30-45 minute full body approach as any time above this meant he’d have to sacrifice sleep
The great thing with training? It isn’t how long you spend training, it’s what you do in the time you train
So we ensured those 30-45 minute sessions were nailed from a technique & intensity standpoint as well as tailored to his personal physique goals, like to bring his chest up
Just 9 weeks later, Darren went on holiday having dropped 11kg
As a result, he went on holiday feeling the best he had done in years and looking damn good
His confidence was sky high
His energy was booming which meant he could chase his lad around as much as he wanted
And he was totally present for his holiday rather than distracted by voices in the back of his head saying he wasn’t what he was before

It’s been a while so here’s a little bit about me, who I am, what I do and some things I get up to outside of work 🤟
If you keep regaining fat after dieting, watch this🤟
Reverse dieting is really simple
It gets over complicated by gimps who just keep you dieting
Get immediately up to your perceived maintenance so that yanno, you’re not dieting anymore
Then make smaller progressive adjustments from there
It really is that simple
The difficulty comes in being adherent to this when you have new found freedom and more calories to play with
Maintain the same standards you had whilst dieting and don’t let yourself get sloppy just because you have more leeway
Otherwise you’ll end up dieting again soon after😆
