⚽️🏋️The‎ pitch‎ and‎ the‎ gym

⁣🔎What‎ an‎ athlete‎ does‎ in‎ the‎ gym‎ serves‎ the‎ purpose‎ of‎ the‎ pitch.‎

⁣🧠With‎ strength‎ training‎ we‎ prepare‎ the‎ structures‎ to‎ handle‎ the‎ demands‎ of‎ the‎ game.

⁣⚙️Every‎ detail‎ from‎ long‎ and‎ short‎ range‎ strength‎ to‎ the‎ various‎ manifestations‎ of‎ strength‎ are‎ crucial‎ for‎ this‎ goal‎ if‎ they‎ take‎ into‎ account‎ individuality‎ and‎ recovery‎ principles.

⁣📈One‎ more‎ year‎ preparing‎ athletes‎ for‎ a‎ high‎ intensity‎ level‎ context.‎

⁣Training‎ is‎ a‎ privilege‎ not‎ a‎ sacrifice.

🧠Coaching‎ in‎ and‎ out‎

⁣⚙️I‎ always‎ believed‎ that‎ me‎ as‎ a‎ coach‎ had‎ to‎ educate‎ athletes‎ on‎ sports‎ performance‎ in‎ a‎ way‎ they‎ understand‎ the‎ logic‎ and‎ rationale‎ behind‎ everything‎ it’s‎ done‎ in‎ this‎ field.

⁣📈I‎ truly‎ believe‎ this‎ can‎ help‎ them‎ have‎ more‎ intent‎ and‎ consistency‎ because‎ they‎ understand‎ what‎ every‎ task‎ can‎ do‎ for‎ them.
⁣That‎ way‎ they‎ can‎ decide‎ and‎ do‎ what’s‎ better‎ for‎ them‎ throughout‎ their‎ careers.‎

Each‎ year‎ I‎ understand‎ it‎ more‎ clearly:‎ high‎ performance‎ isn’t‎ about‎ circumstances‎ or‎ motivation.‎ It’s‎ about‎ commitment.

⁣You‎ just‎ go.‎ You‎ just‎ train.‎ You‎ just‎ grind‎ —‎ regardless‎ of‎ the‎ results.

⁣And‎ that’s‎ the‎ funny‎ thing:‎ showing‎ up‎ regardless‎ of‎ results‎ is‎ the‎ only‎ thing‎ that‎ produces‎ them.

⁣It’s‎ not‎ a‎ sports‎ thing.‎ It’s‎ a‎ way‎ of‎ being.‎ It‎ doesn’t‎ wait‎ for‎ the‎ right‎ mood‎ or‎ the‎ right‎ conditions.

⁣You‎ don’t‎ feel‎ like‎ it.‎ You‎ do‎ it‎ anyway.

⁣You‎ just‎ do‎ it.

⏳‎ OFF-SEASON‎ —‎ WEEK‎ 4

⁣With‎ pre-season‎ on‎ the‎ horizon‎ for‎ some‎ athletes,‎ the‎ focus‎ shifts‎ from‎ building‎ to‎ sharpening.‎ Volume‎ comes‎ down,‎ accumulated‎ load‎ is‎ reduced,‎ and‎ the‎ quality‎ of‎ every‎ rep‎ goes‎ up:

⁣⚡‎ Faster‎ movements‎ —‎ prioritising‎ velocity‎ and‎ expression‎ over‎ accumulation
⁣🧬‎ Less‎ metabolic‎ stress‎ —‎ stepping‎ back‎ from‎ high-fatigue‎ work
⁣🎯‎ More‎ intent‎ —‎ every‎ rep‎ executed‎ with‎ purpose‎ and‎ precision
⁣🔋‎ Less‎ fatigue‎ —‎ arriving‎ fresh,‎ not‎ depleted

⁣This‎ is‎ the‎ bridge‎ into‎ pre-season:‎ we‎ don’t‎ add‎ more,‎ we‎ refine‎ what’s‎ already‎ built‎ —‎ turning‎ weeks‎ of‎ work‎ into‎ a‎ fully‎ prepared,‎ ready‎ athlete.

⁣📊‎ Always‎ measuring‎ and‎ monitoring,‎ so‎ the‎ taper‎ is‎ guided‎ by‎ data,‎ not‎ guesswork.

⏳‎ OFF-SEASON‎ —‎ WEEK‎ 3

⁣With‎ the‎ aerobic‎ and‎ structural‎ foundations‎ now‎ in‎ place,‎ the‎ program‎ shifts‎ gears.‎ This‎ phase‎ introduces:

⁣⚡‎ Anaerobic‎ system‎ —‎ building‎ the‎ capacity‎ to‎ repeat‎ and‎ sustain‎ high-intensity‎ efforts
⁣💥‎ High‎ &‎ fast‎ force‎ —‎ maximal‎ strength‎ and‎ rate‎ of‎ force‎ development‎ come‎ online

⁣This‎ sequencing‎ isn’t‎ random.‎ Each‎ quality‎ is‎ layered‎ on‎ top‎ of‎ the‎ base‎ that‎ supports‎ it.

⁣🎯‎ And‎ always‎ within‎ the‎ principle‎ of‎ individualisation:‎ the‎ program‎ follows‎ both‎ the‎ timing‎ of‎ the‎ phase‎ and‎ the‎ athlete’s‎ specific‎ characteristics‎ —‎ never‎ one‎ without‎ the‎ other.

⁣📊‎ Measuring‎ and‎ monitoring‎ as‎ much‎ as‎ possible‎ —‎ so‎ every‎ task‎ is‎ executed‎ with‎ maximum‎ intent,‎ driving‎ the‎ most‎ beneficial‎ adaptations.

⁣📈‎ Be‎ ready‎ and‎ stay‎ ready.‎ A‎ season‎ starts‎ to‎ be‎ built‎ on‎ vacations.

🔎The‎ details‎ make‎ the‎ difference.

⁣⚙️New‎ additions‎ for‎ the‎ AFEX‎ lab‎ —‎ because‎ precision‎ in‎ training‎ starts‎ with‎ precision‎ in‎ your‎ tools.‎ 🔧

⁣🔹‎ Tibia‎ Dorsiflexion‎ —‎ loading‎ the‎ tibialis‎ anterior‎ for‎ ankle‎ stiffness‎ and‎ cleaner‎ sprint‎ mechanics.

⁣🔹‎ Seated‎ Calf‎ —‎ soleus‎ isolation‎ for‎ Achilles‎ tendon‎ health‎ and‎ stronger‎ push-off.

⁣🔹‎ Abduction/Adduction‎ —‎ frontal-plane‎ hip‎ and‎ adductor‎ strength‎ for‎ pelvic‎ stability‎ and‎ groin‎ resilience.

⁣Precision‎ tools‎ for‎ precision‎ work.

Strength‎ matters‎ —‎ especially‎ when‎ it‎ respects‎ kinetic‎ and‎ kinematic‎ specificity.

⁣A‎ stronger‎ athlete‎ is‎ also‎ a‎ faster,‎ more‎ resilient‎ athlete‎ in‎ the‎ critical‎ positions‎ of‎ the‎ game.
