𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝-𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞-𝐮𝐩? Like, that everyone is judging you? ⁣

And, as a consequence, you 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 or 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠?⁣

It’s not that nobody will ever judge you. For sure someone will.⁣

But 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞 (what another person is thinking) 𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐟 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝗮 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭, that’s a problem.⁣

Next time you catch yourself mind-reading, come back to one question:⁣

𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐈 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰?⁣

Then put your attention back where it belongs: on your surfing.⁣

𝘚𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘵 𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯. 😊🌊⁣

You can be considerate, responsible, and still catch your waves in a crowded lineup.⁣

This is for you if you pull back or don’t even try to catch a wave because you’re afraid of hurting yourself, hitting someone else, or making the wrong decision when it gets busy.⁣

Assess the risk. Make your decision. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐤, not the obstacles and the worst-case scenario.⁣

Read through the slides to learn more, and 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 with helpful exercises to support you in making responsible decisions, catching waves with more confidence and process the feeling of shame/embarrassment after you’ve made a mistake.

Many of you ladies are afraid of making mistakes and being in the way of others. Yes, it happens. Yes, sometimes you dropped in on someone even though you looked but didn’t see the other person. But hey, don’t beat yourself up about it. Instead, apologize, analyze for yourself what happened, and reward yourself for your effort and doing your best.

Remember: Doing the best includes making mistakes.

Thoughts?

Not a holiday, but a bootcamp style surf training week for experienced beginners / low intermediate surfers who want to ⁣

🧘🏻‍♀️ overcome the fear of bigger waves and become more confident in crowded line-ups ⁣

🏄🏻‍♀️ deep dive into surf technique & improve their turns. ⁣

As always, we focus on three pillars:⁣

✨ 𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗟 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 – to overcome fear (especially in bigger, steeper waves) and build confidence in crowded lineups.⁣

✨ 𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗙 𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗡𝗜𝗤𝗨𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗔𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚 – including video analysis to help you improve your pop up, learn proper speed generating and nail your first turns.⁣

✨ 𝗗𝗥𝗬 𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 – like surf skating and intensive pop-up practice.⁣

We‘ve run over 25 fully booked retreats in the past years, our trainings fill up quickly and this will be the last one in 2026. ⁣

🔥 𝘑𝘰𝘪𝘯 𝘶𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘣 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘵𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘚𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵: ⁣

Comment 𝗥𝗘𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧 and we‘ll send you the link with all info.

I’m very much a trial-and-error person.

Especially when it comes to movement, I often feel like I have to go through all the mistakes before my body does it right.

If you’re learning too, maybe something in my process helps you understand yours a little better.

From the mental side, here my 5 cents:

Being conscious of what you are doing while you are doing it is a skill in itself.

And learning usually happens in stages.

So yes, work on the result. But also learn to enjoy the “messy” middle.

I’m trying to get rid of decade old wrong movement patterns with focused coaching 😅😆 It’s a journey. But I love it. I love to train. And once I’ll feel the change in my surfing, I’ll be double happy. Until then, my body will do a few super weird things because my brain is still a bit confused about breaking up the old habit and creating a new one.

Mental training helps me in different ways: Noticing my critical voice, being kind with this part of myself and re-focusing on the task, using task-relevant cue words. Laughing when making mistakes (it’s part of learning). And using breathing correctly to support the movement and energy level.

🏄🏻‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️👉 What are you practicing at the moment?
