At first glance, this hammer curl looks like an arm exercise.

And yes — your biceps, brachialis, forearms, and shoulders are working.

But that is not the whole story.

Your core is helping stabilize your body, while your glutes and legs are working to help you stay balanced and controlled in the water.

The water can create resistance through every press, pull, open, close, and roll.

In this workout, we’re using:

• Arm Presses to work the chest, shoulders, triceps, and upper back
• Chest Flys to target the chest, shoulders, upper back, and arms
• Resistance Rolls to challenge the shoulders, arms, upper back, and core control

The key is not rushing the movement.

Move with control, use the resistance of the water, and let your muscles work through each direction.
