The championship, hosted by the University of Swat under the auspices of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad, featured 23 universities from across Pakistan.

The GCU Lahore Chess Team recorded 4 wins, 1 draw, and 2 losses, securing 4th position overall.

GCU Student Represents Pakistan in U-18 Men’s Hockey Asia Cup

Ghulam Mustafa, an Intermediate student of Government College University (GCU) Lahore, is proudly representing Pakistan in the ongoing U-18 Men’s Hockey Asia Cup being held in Japan.

The Pakistan U-18 hockey team has shown an impressive performance in the tournament, securing victories against China and Bangladesh in the group stage. With these outstanding wins, Pakistan has successfully advanced to the semi-final of the prestigious event.

Pakistan will now face arch-rivals India in the U-18 Men’s Hockey Asia Cup semi-final on 5 June. The highly anticipated match is expected to be a thrilling contest as both teams compete for a place in the final.

The Vice Chancellor of GCU Lahore and the GCU Sports Board have extended their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Pakistan team, especially to Ghulam Mustafa for his remarkable achievement of representing the country at the international level.

They expressed confidence in the team’s abilities and hoped that the young Pakistani players would continue their excellent form and bring home the gold medal for the nation.

The Government College University Faisalabad successfully organized the prestigious All Pakistan HEC Intervarsity Women Hockey Championship 2025–26.

The Government College University Lahore hockey team participated with full passion, determination, and team spirit, showcasing an impressive display of skills, fitness, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

The team secured 3rd position in their group, reflecting their hard work, dedication, and competitive performance against strong opponents.

The intermediate sports-basis admission process at GC University, Lahore, reached its final phase today with the completion of candidate interviews.

A total of 1,12 candidates who applied under the sports quota underwent the evaluation process, culminating in today's final interview round.

The panel assessed the student-athletes on their sports certificates, trial performance, and academic backgrounds.

The official interview committee was led by Director Sports, Muhammad Waseem Akhtar, along with Director Intermediate studies Siddique Awan and Deputy Director Registrar Kashif, ensuring a transparent and rigorous selection process throughout the day.

The final merit list will be displayed on the university's official website after Eid Ul Azha Holidays.

The last of the GCU intermediate Sports admission trials concludes with Hockey, handball and cricket shortlisted candidates finals.

Athletes were made aware of their achieved ranking right after the trials to ensure transparency and merit.
