A visitor walked into PCG Defenders recently and said something we have heard many times:

“I’ve always wanted to try shooting, but I wasn’t sure I could do it.”

There was some nervousness at first. That is perfectly normal. A firearm commands respect, and anyone handling one for the first time should feel the weight of that responsibility.

The RSO (Range Safety Officer) explained the safety rules, corrected the stance and guided the visitor through every step. No rushing. No bravado. Just patience, discipline and complete attention to what was happening on the firing line.

The first shot missed.

The second came closer.

The steel answered with that unmistakable sound and the expression on the visitor’s face changed completely. The nervousness was gone. In its place was the quiet satisfaction of someone who had just discovered what focus can achieve.
