Basic Batting Technique – Cover Drive

The Cover Drive is one of the most important batting shots for scoring runs. It is played to a full ball outside the off stump using proper balance, footwork, and timing. Step forward with your front foot, keep your head still and over the ball, present the full face of the bat, and play the shot along the ground through the covers. Remember, good timing is more important than power.
