Important Update: Member & Dog Profile Photographs

Dear Members,

GSDCP is updating the way member and dog profile photographs are submitted and approved.

To keep all profiles clear and consistent, all new photographs will now be checked before they are approved.

Re-validation of Existing Photographs

Within the next 48 hours, we will also begin re-validating all existing member and dog profile photographs.

If an existing photograph does not meet the new guidelines, it will be invalidated and you will be requested to upload a new photograph.

Member Profile Photograph

Please upload:

- A clear headshot
- ⁠Head and shoulders visible
- ⁠Face directly towards the camera
- ⁠Face clear and in focus
- ⁠Good lighting
- ⁠A simple background where possible

Please avoid side poses, group photographs, distant photographs, sunglasses, filters or anything that makes the face difficult to see.

Dog Profile Photograph

Please upload:

- A clear photograph showing the full dog
- ⁠A side view is preferred
- ⁠A photograph of the dog in a proper stand is strongly preferred
- ⁠The dog should be visible from head to tail
- ⁠The photograph should be clear, well lit and in focus
- ⁠A simple background is preferred

Please avoid photographs where the dog is sitting, lying down, partly cropped, too far away, or blocked by a handler or other objects.

Easier Photo Cropping

The photograph uploader has also been improved.

It now shows a cropping grid so you can position and crop your photograph properly before submitting it.

If Your Photograph Is Invalidated

Please simply upload a new photograph that follows the guidelines above.

All newly submitted photographs will remain pending until they have been checked and approved.

Your phone number does not have to appear in the public Members Directory. You can choose to hide it while still keeping it registered with GSDCP for account access.

Mr. Imran Husain: Carrying Forward a Legacy of Service to the German Shepherd Dog

The history of the GSD breed in Pakistan cannot be written without acknowledging the contribution of Mr. Imran Husain.

As President of the German Shepherd Dog Club of Pakistan, Mr. Husain has given decades of service to the breed as a breeder, handler, judge, mentor, administrator, and international representative. His work has helped guide the development of the German Shepherd Dog in Pakistan with clear respect for correct type, sound structure, strong movement, stable temperament, and the international breed standard.

His service has also given Pakistan a respected voice at the highest level of the German Shepherd Dog community. Mr. Husain represented Pakistan and the GSDCP as a Director of the WUSV for three consecutive terms, serving for twelve years on the WUSV Board of Directors. This remains one of the proudest international distinctions for the GSDCP and for Pakistan’s German Shepherd Dog community.

Beyond the German Shepherd Dog, Mr. Husain is also a sought-after all-breed judge, with numerous judging assignments abroad to his credit. His knowledge, experience, and balanced judgment have earned him high respect within FCI and international canine circles, making him a personality of global acclaim in the canine fraternity.

In recognition of his lifelong work and dedication, Mr. Husain was also honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the WUSV. This honour carries special meaning for the GSDCP, as his late father, Mr. Muzaffar Husain, Founder of the German Shepherd Dog Club of Pakistan, was also a recipient of the same award.

Together, their names represent a family legacy built on service, knowledge, and commitment to the German Shepherd Dog. From the founding vision of Mr. Muzaffar Husain to the international representation and continued leadership of Mr. Imran Husain, the Husain family has played a central role in giving the breed structure, direction, and credibility in Pakistan.

For generations of breeders, owners, handlers, and exhibitors, Mr. Imran Husain has been a source of guidance and standard. His influence can be seen in the growth of specialist shows, the training of breed-minded fanciers, and the continued effort to keep Pakistan connected with the international German Shepherd Dog community.

The GSDCP is honoured to have a personality of Mr. Imran Husain’s stature leading the Club, and remains grateful for his lifelong contribution to the German Shepherd Dog in Pakistan.

The German Shepherd Dog Club of Pakistan expresses its deep sorrow on the passing of the younger brother of Dr. Faisal Khan, an active Permanent Member of the GSDCP and a GSDCP-authorized veterinarian for HD/ED radiography.

At this time of grief, we stand with Dr. Faisal Khan and his family. The loss of a beloved brother leaves a silence that words can only acknowledge, never fill. We pray that Allah Almighty grants the departed soul the highest place in Jannat, blesses him with His mercy, and gives the family strength, patience, and peace.

Dr. Faisal Khan has been a valued part of the GSDCP community, and today the entire club shares in his sorrow.

إِنَّا لِلّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

May Allah forgive the departed, raise his ranks, and grant his family the strength to bear this irreparable loss. Ameen.
