BUKIDNON MOTO FESTIVAL ADVENTOUR LOOP 2026
TRAFFIC, ROAD SAFETY & RIDER CONDUCT RULES
RIDE. CULTURE. UNITY.
The Bukidnon Moto Festival Adventour Loop 2026 is an organized motorcycle adventure ride conducted on public roads, backroads, barangay roads, and other permitted routes. All participants are required to comply with applicable Philippine traffic laws, local ordinances, traffic-control instructions, and reasonable safety directives of event marshals.
These event rules are based principally on the Land Transportation and Traffic Code (Republic Act No. 4136), Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009 (Republic Act No. 10054), Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act of 2013 (Republic Act No. 10586), and other applicable laws and regulations.
1. VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE AND LEGAL MOTORCYCLE
Every rider must have a valid driver's license appropriate for the motorcycle being operated. The motorcycle must be properly registered and must comply with applicable LTO requirements.
Participants must carry or have available the required motorcycle and driver documents whenever required by authorities. RA 4136 governs the licensing, registration, and operation of motor vehicles on public highways.
2. MANDATORY HELMET
All riders and back riders must wear a standard protective motorcycle helmet while riding on public roads, whether traveling a short or long distance.
The helmet must comply with applicable Philippine standards and requirements. RA 10054 makes helmet use mandatory for motorcycle riders and back riders.
Event rule: No helmet, no participation while riding.
3. OBEY SPEED LIMITS | NO RACING
This event is NOT a race.
Every rider must maintain a safe and prudent speed appropriate to the road, weather, traffic, terrain, visibility, and surrounding conditions.
RA 4136 requires motorists to drive at a careful and prudent speed and prohibits driving at a speed that endangers persons or property or prevents the rider from stopping within the assured clear distance ahead. It also provides statutory maximum speeds depending on the type of road and circumstances.
Never race, drag race, speed contest, or attempt to beat another participant.
4. KEEP RIGHT
Participants shall generally keep to the right side of the road and follow the proper lane or road position.
When meeting oncoming traffic, riders must maintain the proper position and exercise caution. Philippine law requires vehicles to keep right when meeting vehicles coming from the opposite direction and provides rules for overtaking.
5. OVERTAKING
Overtake only when it is legal, necessary, and clearly safe.
Do not overtake:
At blind corners or crests where visibility is inadequate;
Where oncoming traffic makes the maneuver unsafe;
In intersections or other prohibited situations;
On narrow sections, bridges, steep approaches, or hazardous backroad sections;
Another rider simply to gain position in the group.
RA 4136 restricts overtaking when the opposing lane is not clearly visible and free of oncoming traffic for sufficient distance.
6. SAFE FOLLOWING DISTANCE
Maintain sufficient distance from the motorcycle ahead.
Do not ride excessively close to another participant. Backroads may contain loose gravel, mud, water, potholes, animals, pedestrians, agricultural vehicles, and unexpected obstacles.
Your stopping distance must always allow you to react safely.
7. NO RECKLESS OR DANGEROUS RIDING
Strictly prohibited are:
Wheelies or intentional loss of control on public roads;
Zigzagging through traffic;
Sudden lane changes without warning;
Aggressive weaving;
Racing with other riders;
Riding at excessive speed for road conditions;
Dangerous overtaking;
Intentionally blocking traffic;
Any maneuver that places other road users at unnecessary risk.
The purpose of the event is adventure and camaraderie, not competition on public roads.
8. FOLLOW TRAFFIC SIGNS AND TRAFFIC ENFORCERS
All participants must obey:
Traffic lights;
Stop signs;
Yield signs;
Road markings;
Speed-limit signs;
One-way restrictions;
Temporary traffic controls;
PNP, LTO, LGU, and authorized traffic-enforcement instructions.
Event marshals do not override Philippine law.
If a marshal's instruction conflicts with a lawful direction from police or authorized traffic personnel, participants must follow the lawful direction of the authorities.
9. RESPECT OTHER ROAD USERS
The route will pass through communities and areas used by ordinary motorists, residents, pedestrians, farmers, cyclists, and other road users.
Participants must:
Give way when appropriate;
Avoid unnecessary horn use;
Reduce speed when passing homes and populated areas;
Exercise extreme caution around pedestrians and children;
Give priority to emergency vehicles;
Avoid creating unnecessary traffic obstruction.
Remember: We are guests of the communities we pass through.
Participants should maintain an organized formation appropriate to the road conditions.
The group must not:
Occupy the entire roadway unnecessarily;
Block opposing traffic;
Stop suddenly in the middle of the road;
Attempt to keep up with a faster rider beyond their own ability.
Ride at your own safe pace.
No rider should feel pressured to exceed their ability just to remain with the group.
10. BACKROAD SAFETY
The Adventour Loop includes backroads and varying terrain. Riders must expect changing road conditions such as:
mud • gravel • loose rocks • potholes • water crossings • steep climbs • steep descents • narrow roads • blind corners • livestock • pedestrians • agricultural vehicles
Slow down and adjust your riding technique according to actual road conditions.
The fact that a road is remote does not mean that traffic laws no longer apply.
11. STOPPING AND PARKING
When stopping:
Move to a safe area whenever possible;
Do not stop around blind curves;
Do not block intersections;
Do not block access roads or private properties;
Do not obstruct emergency vehicles;
Keep the motorcycle under control.
For group stops, follow the instructions of event marshals.
12. EMERGENCY VEHICLES
Always give way to ambulances, fire trucks, police vehicles, and other authorized emergency vehicles.
If necessary, riders shall safely move aside and allow emergency vehicles to pass.
13. LOCAL ORDINANCES AND COMMUNITY RULES
Participants must comply with applicable provincial, city, municipal, barangay, environmental, and road-use regulations along the route.
Where a local authority imposes a lawful additional traffic or safety restriction, the local restriction shall be respected.
14. EVENT MARSHALS AND SAFETY PERSONNEL
Event marshals are present to help manage the ride, communicate hazards, assist riders, and coordinate the group.
Participants must cooperate with reasonable safety instructions from event marshals.
However, event marshals are not police officers and cannot exempt any rider from Philippine traffic laws.
15. ACCIDENTS AND INCIDENTS
In the event of an accident:
Stop and secure the immediate area when reasonably safe.
Assist injured persons when possible without creating additional danger.
Notify the nearest event marshal.
Contact the appropriate emergency services or authorities.
Do not leave an injured participant without arranging appropriate assistance.
Do not move a seriously injured person unless necessary to prevent further immediate danger.
16. NO LITTERING OR ROAD HAZARDS
Participants must not throw bottles, food wrappers, plastics, motorcycle parts, or any other waste onto the road or environment.
Do not intentionally create hazards for other riders.
Leave no trace. Respect Bukidnon.
17. RIDER RESPONSIBILITY
Every participant remains personally responsible for their own:
Motorcycle;
Driving decisions;
Speed;
Safety equipment;
Driver's license;
Vehicle registration;
Compliance with traffic laws;
Compliance with local regulations.
Participation in an organized event does not give riders any exemption from Philippine law.
18. PENALTY / DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE EVENT
The event organizers may suspend or remove a participant from the organized ride for serious or repeated violations of these event rules, particularly conduct that endangers other participants or the public.
Removal from the event does not prevent the proper authorities from enforcing applicable Philippine laws or issuing lawful traffic citations.
19. THE GOLDEN RULE
RIDE SMART. RIDE SAFE. RESPECT THE ROAD.
No checkpoint, finisher status, prize, photo opportunity, or event achievement is more important than your life or the safety of another person.
We are here to explore Bukidnon, not to conquer its roads through reckless riding.
FINAL REMINDER
The Bukidnon Moto Festival Adventour Loop 2026 is an ADVENTURE RIDE, NOT A RACE.
Ride within your limits.
Respect the law.
Respect the community.
Respect fellow riders.
Respect the mountain.
