𝟒𝐓𝐇 𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐆 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐎𝐑 𝐅𝐔𝐍 𝐑𝐔𝐍 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 𝐓𝐎𝐆𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝟏,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐒

Around 1,400 participants filled the Emperador Stadium, Mckinley Hill in Barangay Pinagsama as Taguig held the 4th Color Fun Run on Sunday, Aug. 2, in celebration of the 48th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week.

Persons with disabilities, together with their families, caregivers, advocates, and partner organizations, took part in the 1-kilometer and 3-kilometer run, turning the morning into a vibrant celebration of inclusion, resilience, and equal opportunity.

Participants also enjoyed a Zumba warm-up led by the Taguig Wellness Movers, colorful powder stations along the route, and a special performance by the Taguig City Dance Crew.

In her message, Mayor Lani Cayetano thanked everyone who helped make the event possible and said the city continues to build a community where every individual is empowered to thrive:

“Patunay po ito na dito sa Taguig hindi natin hinahayaan na ang kapansanan ay maging hadlang para mailabas ng isang indibidwal ang kaniyang potensyal. Nakita natin kanina—may mga tumakbo gamit ang tungkod, may mga tumakbo gamit ang kanilang wheelchairs, at may mga deaf at mute na kapag tumatakbo ay hindi mo nakikita ang kanilang kapansanan. Iyan ang kulturang gusto natin dito sa Taguig—may kalinga sa isa’t isa at nagbibigay ng espasyo para sa lahat.”

She expressed special thanks to Megaworld and McKinley Estate for their contribution in making the event possible.

For Rodlyn Tarroza of Barangay Western Bicutan, who joined the event with her five-year-old son, Andrei Amir Casano, who has a speech disability, the Color Fun Run was a joyful first-time experience:

“Masaya, tuwang-tuwa nga siya dahil colorful at na-amaze siya. Sabi pa niya, panalo raw kami kasi may medal. First fun run niya ito. Na-enjoy ko rin as a parent kasi sumasali talaga ako sa mga fun run.”

She also thanked the City Government and Mayor Lani Cayetano for creating meaningful programs for persons with disabilities and their families

“Nagpapasalamat ako kay Mayor Lani Cayetano para sa mga programa ng Taguig para sa mga persons with disabilities. Malaking tulong din ang binibigay ng City of Taguig na allowance na mas mataas na ngayon para sa pangangailangan ng mga bata, at talagang nae-enjoy nila ang mga ganitong activities.”

Taguig Sports Clinic 2026 continues to strengthen grassroots sports development as young Taguigueños take part in the Table Tennis and Softball Clinics.🏓🥎

More than learning the fundamentals of the game, these aspiring athletes are developing discipline, confidence, teamwork, and perseverance through quality training under the guidance of dedicated coaches. These clinics provide young athletes with the opportunity to discover and nurture their talents while building a strong foundation for future competitions.

Through grassroots sports development, the City Government of Taguig remains committed to creating opportunities that empower the next generation of athletes and inspire them to pursue excellence both in sports and in life.

Another home court victory for the Taguig Generals!🏀

The Taguig Generals delivered another dominant performance on their home court, defeating the Quezon City Stars, 146–115, in the NBL Pilipinas GovernCup Season 2026 on July 12, 2026, at the West Rembo Sports Complex.

Leading the way was Noy Pragoso, who poured in 24 points to help secure another convincing win for the Generals. With excellent teamwork, relentless hustle, and strong ex*****on on both ends of the floor, the team once again showcased the depth and determination that define Taguig basketball.

The victory improves the Taguig Generals’ record to 3–0, keeping their strong momentum alive in the tournament.
