EVRFA Referees' Dept conducts Training for Young Aspiring Referees

Shots from Day 1 of the EVRFA Referees' Department Talent Identification & Orientation held last August 8, 2026 at the Leyte Sports Development Center(Grandstand), Tacloban City. In a series of classroom and field sessions, young aspirants will be introduced to the foundations of refereeing and shall prepare them for higher levels of refereeing courses and training. This is the department's approach/attempt towards increasing retention of individuals in the refereeing role within the community.

The EVRFA is in support of initiatives like these and shall continue to advocate for growth in the football community, not only for the players and coaches but also for other stakeholders like our very own referees.

Football has evolved into something more than just a game. It has carved a path for generations of football talents to build character, to gather experience, to promote sportsmanship, to make new friends, and to build their own legacies. For this to live on in future generations, it is up to the present to keep on strengthening its impact on the community.

Aligned with the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS), the 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, through the 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗮𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, is seeking to develop and identify young talents and to provide more playing opportunities for the football grassroots of Region 8. Thus, along with all the other RFAs nationwide, the PFF-EVRFA Youth League 2026 will be launched and will be kicking off on 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

- Under 11 (Born 2015)
- Under 13 (Born 2013)

𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁
- 8v8 Football
- 3 periods of 20 minutes
- Weekly games (Sundays)
- Games will run for a period of more or less 3 months or at most 13 Matchweeks starting August 2026.

Submission of all documentary requirements shall be set at on or before August 7, 2026.

The PFF has set the maximum registration fee to be collected at Php 5,000 per team.

There are only 10 allotted slots for each category. Teams will be able to secure their slot once they have completed the submission of ALL documentary requirements and have settled their corresponding registration fees.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | 𝐏𝐅𝐅 𝐂 𝐃𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬

The 𝗔𝗙𝗖-𝗣𝗙𝗙 𝗖 𝗗𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗺𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 in Eastern Visayas officially concluded on June 7, 2026, following weeks of learning, collaboration, and growth.

The journey began with online sessions held from May 18–22, 2026, and continued through intensive face-to-face theoretical and practical activities from May 29-June 7, 2026. Sessions were conducted across various venues, including STEFTI, Bethel International School, the PFF Regional Training Center in Palanog, and the Streetlight Inc. Football Field in Tagpuro. The course culminated with the final examinations and closing activities held at Bethel International School and the PFF Regional Training Center.

The culminating program was led by EVRFA General Secretary Lawrence Tinoc, who delivered the welcome remarks. This was followed by a message from Senior Instructor Coach John Carmona, who commended the participants for their dedication and commitment throughout the course. EVRFA Board Member and former General Secretary Rex Caraballa (2011-2014) also graced the occasion as guest speaker, emphasizing the importance of coach education and football development programs in strengthening the sport and creating more opportunities across the region.

Throughout the course, participants were challenged to learn, reflect, apply, and demonstrate the knowledge and skills required of modern football coaches. More importantly, they strengthened a shared commitment to raising coaching standards and advancing grassroots football development in the region.

Congratulations to all participating coaches for your dedication and perseverance. May the lessons gained throughout this course continue to inspire and guide you as you develop players, strengthen communities, and contribute to the growth of football in Eastern Visayas and beyond. 💪🏼⚽️

💰 Registration Fee: ₱100 per participant

🕑 2:00 PM – Onsite Registration
🕒 3:00 PM – Start of Games

Participants may register individually or as a team, with a maximum of eight players per team. Slots are limited and will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Participants who register and settle their payment online in advance may proceed directly to the venue at 3:00 PM. You may scan the qr code for the online payment.

As part of the ongoing PFF C Diploma Coaching Course, participants engaged in a practical field activity yesterday, May 29, 2026 for their practical session at the PFF Regional Training Facility, where they were divided into two groups and tasked to facilitate training sessions for small groups of players.

The exercise provided coaches with the opportunity to apply coaching principles, session organization, communication, and technical instruction in a real training environment. The players involved in the activity were members of San Jose Football Club, allowing participants to gain valuable hands-on coaching experience under the guidance of the course tutors.

The PFF C Diploma Coaching Course is currently underway, bringing together aspiring and active football coaches from across the region in a meaningful learning and development experience focused on technical growth, tactical understanding, and leadership in the game. ⚽

Hosted by the 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗮𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 under the 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 in collaboration with the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 and 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝗯𝗼𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗱 𝗱𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗰𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗻, the course consists of classroom discussions, practical field sessions, coaching demonstrations, and collaborative learning activities designed to strengthen football coaching standards in the region.

The course officially runs from 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟵 𝘁𝗼 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, with the current Day 1- theoretical sessions featured in this post held today at St. Therese Educational Foundation of Tacloban Inc. in Tacloban City, Leyte. The program is facilitated by PFF Tutors, 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗮, 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝘂𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗬𝘂. Theoretical sessions will be conducted at STEFTI, while practical sessions will take place at the PFF Regional Training Center in Palanog and the Bethel International School Football Field.

The ongoing activity reflects the collective commitment of the football community in Eastern Visayas to continuously develop competent coaches who will contribute to the growth of both grassroots and competitive football. Through initiatives such as this, more opportunities are created not only for coaches and athletes, but also for the continued advancement and development of football in the region.
