The Fitness Industry (and a lot others which are profit-greedy) have led us to believe to achieve fitness and health, we need a gym membership or ultra-high tech equipments, and/or an obnoxious/extreme diet that you need to spend a lot of money on
How can we expect an average person who is working a full-time job, barely having time for themselves and their family with the commute and increasingly expensive cost of living to keep up with all the trends and costs of wanting to be fit and healthy?
When all along, the answer is simple and straightforward: “We need to set a clear standard for ourselves”
What does it mean to be healthy for you?
How much fitness do you actually NEED?
Do you need a 6-pack? Do you need to be able to run a 20k marathon? Are you a competitive athlete? Can you make a living out of it?
For the majority, the answer is a big NO. It’s nice to have and be able to do it but for most people, they just want to be able to live their lives without chronic pain and sickness, not get injured if and when they decide to go for a small hike or chase after their kids and carry groceries and not slip or fall going to and from the car
If you can achieve this, YOU ARE FIT AND HEALTHY ENOUGH. Anything more is EXTRA.
I’ve been at this for 24 years straight now when I started at 17; naive, uneducated and inexperienced. I bought in into all the fads and tried everything— all to see for myself what worked and what didn’t. At 40 years old going 41 in 3 months, I’m healthier, stronger, more flexible and most importantly, happier without breaking the bank just to maintain a lifestyle and physique
Because I learned to do what’s important FOR ME, keep doing it with zero to minimal equipment in the comfort of my own residence AND learned enough about my own anatomy and physiology.
I’m a total stranger on the internet so I understand if you cannot trust my words, but if you can just ask yourself these questions and find the truth and path that is right for you, then I’ve done my job.
If this resonates with you and wants to skip all the years of trial and error, DM for a consultation.

Five years in the making and finally reached the pinnacle of this journey
From finding my left arm and right leg, to the long journey of developing my Tuck Balance and Shoulder Mobility, to learning to transition smoother with tempo changes and finally, to hold a Float and learn to express movements in my own unique ways
This is to all my fellow instructors and flowists who have inspired me to climb all the way up and to the Animal Flow team for all your support and organization of your workshops
I am deeply humbled to receive this certification and excited to impart all my learnings to all my beloved students and clients
Peace and Love,
Justin
Snippets from my Animal Flow Masterclass at Soulspace Yoga
First time teaching Rocket Yogis so I designed a beginner-intermediate flow with some powerful transitions and an opportunity to do a Tuck Balance— and they exceeded my expectations!
Thank you to everyone who attended and for giving your all and being so game to do the entire flow!
Thank you for the organizers and for Rain assisting in teaching as well.
I look forward flowing with you again.
Peace and Love,
Justin
Is Animal Flow good for you?
The short answer is YES. And the WHY?
Because it improves the HUMAN animal and bridges the gap between where you are now and where you want to be
Most disciplines/practice focuses on one or two facets of Fitness; for example Yoga focuses on balance and Weightlifting focuses on strength, just doing one can lead to gaps in our overall capacity to move
Furthermore, very few practices focus on coordination and proprioception which is invaluable especially as we age because a slip could cause injury which impairs our daily life and take long to heal.
The best part is, it can be practiced anywhere and everywhere without any equipment and smoothly integrates into ANY other practice e.g. Strength Training + Animal Flow
Incorporating Animal Flow in my practice has greatly improved my capacity in Calisthenics and Hand Balancing and I wish to share this to a lot of people
In fact, I’m teaching a masterclass in Soulspace Yoga this August 16, Sunday. Shoot me any questions you may have and I’ll happily answer all of them

Incremental progress. Steady growth is fast.
What social media doesn’t show us is HOW LONG it takes to IMPROVE a skilL and OWN it. It usually takes months, if not years depending on the difficulty and requirements of a given skill
Here I show my July progress working on Animal Flow advanced transitions, One-arm Handstand, One-arm Pull-up, Handstand Push-up and Bridge and Shoulder Mobility
Working on multiple, varied skills and goals are possible if you know what you’re doing (how to program) and setting achievable, bite-sized goals to measure if you are indeed making progress.
This is how I practice and similarly how I coach my clients. No BS. No trendy/new way. No ego. Just focusing on what works and what makes us come alive.
If you’re a serious practitioner and truly want to get better and see results, I’m happy to work with you. DM for a consultation.

Understanding that Handstand is a CONTROLLING skill will save you time and energy as you can set your intentions and expectations accordingly
I often see practitioners trying to get the perfect shape and alignment THEN tip their way into the balance point and HOPE to hold it for time— what it does is simply learn to get good at precisely that. BUT WE DON’T ENTER a handstand from that ideal position
Realistically, Handstand/Handbalancing is MANAGING all the chaos WHILE upside down. So we want a level of CONTROL so we don’t fall and hurt ourselves first and foremost AND spend tons of time in the exact position; LEARNING what we need to do so we can build body awareness
Control happens in the fingers, the hands and the shoulders. But without proper alignment, coordination and muscle engagements, the body would be TOO HEAVY to move with it hence many break down in their form OR learn to do the drills by compensating due to undertrained shoulders— which leads to overuse injury down the line
In my online coaching, I break the skills piece by piece and customize it precisely to what my client needs so it is ACCESSIBLE which builds confidence and make the practice fun and engaging— because let’s face it, handstands are cool and fun
I’d be happy to be your coach and help you achieve this elusive skill, one step at a time.

In TL;DR format, Training is sharpening an axe while Practice is learning how to swing the axe to chop down a tree
The problem is, far too many spend their time and effort hacking away with a dull axe instead of backing off for some time to hone their axe and swinging technique.
The latter seems like a long way around when in fact it’s the fastest route because you’ll be more efficient AND effective; using much less energy— seeing results also motivates us further which compounds over time.
So if you’re learning a new skill, take the time to build your foundations first. Every skill has its base requirement in strength, flexibility, mobility; the more you have, the easier the skill becomes because of your GREATER capacity to practice
You can either take 6-12 months to build your foundations first THEN learn the skills OR,
Simultaneously build your capacity while learning a skill. Though this takes careful programming and appropriate adjustments as you progress and as life happens.
I have been teaching adults how to handstand, who have zero experience and juggling raising a family and a full time job. It is DOABLE. I can do it for you, you just need to show up and do the work.
DM for coaching.
