Solve the problem. Check drill.
Rifle empty. Transition to pistol, fix the issue, stay in the fight.
In Kali, when one weapon goes down, you don't stop, you flow to the next tool and keep working. Empty hands to knife. Knife to impact weapon. Rifle to pistol.

Most people train for the fight.
But what happens when the fight isn’t the only problem?
A blade.
A bleeding wound.
A threat you didn’t see coming.
A firearm.
Someone else who needs help.
Real-world protection doesn’t fit into one skill.
The Protector Series is coming.
Five modules. One path.
Built for the moments when knowing what to do matters.
REVEALED SOON.

IT'S NOT WHAT'S IN YOUR HAND. IT'S YOU.
Saturday's seminar moved through sticks and impact tools, long blades, knife vs. knife, and finished with empty hands vs. knife.
The tool changes. The distance, the range, the timing, all of it changes too. What stays the same is the principle.
Take away the tool and you're still there.
From "KALI: Knife Survival & Practical Self-Defense", experience the art the Philippines gave the world.
Training with Tuhon Patch Caballero and Agalon Dan Sabularse.

CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF OUR BROTHER IN ARMS.
Jonathan Cueto.
One of the original Hangkilan members. He helped build Hangkilan South, bringing Pekiti Tirsia Kali to a whole new group of students south of Manila.
He's also the reason this journey started for me. When I was first looking into edged weapons training, he was the one who told me to look into Pekiti Tirsia Kali. Everything that came after — Hangkilan, PTTA Philippines, all of it — traces back to that conversation.
Life is short. Shorter than we like to admit.
Cherish every moment. Reach out to the people who matter. Make amends while you still can. Make the time, spend the time — don't save it for later, because later isn't guaranteed.
The last photo here is the last time we saw him — February 2026, at one of our workshops in Hangkilan Mandaluyong. He was there training, and doing what he always did best: promoting Filipino Martial Arts to fellow Filipinos. He brought friends along just so they could try it and see what Kali is really about.
That's who he was until the end.
Salamat sa lahat, chief. Until we meet again.
