UP ESCAPE ELIMINATION IN TRIPLE OVERTIME THRILLER!

The UP NBA2k team, led by their Captain’s 62 point performance defeat the LGE Knights 112-107. This win in the play-in of the 1OF1 PH Pro-Am tournament clinches their spot as the 8th seed.

Despite the three quarter deadlock, and the fact that UP was outscored for the first three quarters of the game, our boys in maroon pulled off a win in crunch time. Team Captain Droosy Javier scored a career high 62 point double-double, made 15 threes and shot 76% from the field. UP also saw scoring bursts from Enzo Zapanta and Nate Carpio who tallied 20 and 24 points respectively. Enzo again made his presence felt on the boards, grabbing 16 of the team’s 19 total rebounds, while Nate shot a respectable 67% from the field.

The UP Fighting Maroons will now face their next challenge as they battle with the 1-seeded Hayabros.

The UP Fighting Maroons escape with victories over LGE Invictus and PHINOISE in the 2nd season of the 1OF1 Pro-Am League.

Fueled by Droosy’s 32 points and 11 assists and Kimi’s 4/4 sharpshooting from the arc, UP’s Enzo served as the chairman of the boards. Grabbing 15 of State U’s 20 rebounds, he completed his double double by tallying 11 points and 4 assists, leading UP to a tight 77-75 win over LGE Invictus.

Against PHINOISE, UP’s Carpio pushed State U to a comfortable 70-59 win, dropping 21 points with 3 steals and a block to show for it. UP’s Andrei also showed his impact on the defensive end with 5 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals, and a block.
