What can you learn from Esther 1?

1. Pride can lead to downfall

King Ahasuerus (Xerxes I) used his wealth and power to impress others. His pride set the stage for poor decisions.
Lesson: When pride rules, wisdom leaves. God values humility over display.

2. Impulsive decisions have lasting consequences

In anger and under the influence of others, the king removed Queen Vashti. This emotional reaction reshaped the future of the kingdom.
Lesson: Don’t decide when emotions are high. Pause, pray, and seek wisdom first.

3. Influence matters—choose counselors wisely

The king relied on advisers who feared losing control rather than seeking justice.
Lesson: Surround yourself with godly, wise voices—not those who fuel fear or ego.

4. God works even when He is unseen

God’s name isn’t mentioned in Esther 1, yet this chapter prepares the way for Esther’s rise and Israel’s deliverance.
Lesson: Even when God seems silent, He is still arranging events for His purposes.

5. Position does not equal character

Power and authority do not guarantee righteousness.
Lesson: True leadership is shown through self-control, respect, and integrity—not titles.

6. Your “removal” may be someone else’s preparation

Vashti’s removal opened the door for Esther to become queen.
Lesson: What looks like loss or injustice may be God repositioning things for a greater plan.
