πŸ”οΈ Not many people expect the Philippines to look like this…

Cool mountain air, fog rolling over pine trees, quiet villages, and views that feel more like Nepal than a tropical islandβ€”welcome to Sagada.

I explored this place with my travel buddy Chris Angway 🀝, who actually grew up there, and it completely changed how I see the Philippines.

Kung nagbabalak kang pumunta o curious ka lang kung ano ba talaga ang meron dito (bukod sa hanging coffins), narito ang complete Sagada guide para sa iyo.

Flying to the Philippines soon?

Don't let paperwork ruin your trip.

Before you fly, make sure you've checked:
βœ”οΈ Passport validity
βœ”οΈ Visa requirements
βœ”οΈ eTravel registration
βœ”οΈ Return or onward ticket
βœ”οΈ Tourist visa rules

We've put everything together in one easy-to-follow guide so you can spend less time worrying about requirements and more time planning your island adventure.

Every destination has a story, but it's the people you meet that make you want to come back.

Shoutout to Chris Angway, my adventure buddy from our Cordillera rides, and Jasher Villaruel, who's always showing the best side of Palawan through surfing, island life, and local experiences.

🏍️ Most people fly from Siquijor to Palawan...

I decided to ride instead.

Multiple ferries.
Hundreds of kilometers.
Countless unforgettable views.

And I'd do it all over again.

This is what a real Philippines motorbike adventure looks like.

πŸ€” Would you visit a place called Chocolate Hills if there wasn't any chocolate?

The Philippines is full of places with names that make you do a double take. Once you learn the stories behind them, they make a lot more sense.

🍫 Chocolate Hills, Bohol
These famous hills aren't made of chocolate. During the dry season, the grass turns brown, giving them their chocolate-like color.

🏝️ Hundred Islands, Pangasinan
Despite the name, there are actually more than 100 islands spread across the area.

🐊 Crocodile Island, Boracay
No crocodiles live here. The island got its name because its shape resembles a crocodile from a distance.

πŸŒ‹ Mount Apo, Davao
The word "Apo" is a title of respect that means elder or ancestor in several local languages. A fitting name for the country's highest mountain.

✨ Siquijor
Often called the Mystical Island, Siquijor is known for its folklore, traditional healing practices, and centuries-old legends.

Sometimes the story behind a place is just as interesting as the destination itself.
