The wait is finally over! The 2nd Junior International Basketball Cup (JIBC) 2026 is officially happening, and of course, we are bringing the action right here to the home of the Tomasinos! 🐯
As the Founder and Director of JIBC, and as your Commissioner, I am personally inviting everyone to witness the clash of our finest youth players on the court. Save the dates: June 27 and 28 at the University of Santo Tomas (UST), España, Manila!

The coaches of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP), headed by SEA Games 2025 gold medalist, coach Norman Black, have held their planning session for the next Combined Talent Identification Grassroots program of SBP.
First place to visit for the SBP coaches will be in Zamboanga City from February 6 to 8, 2026. The pool of assistant coaches will consist of the following: Beaujing Acot, Larry Fonacier, and Dean Castaño. The coaches will travel across the country to scout players. They will monitor skills, measure talent, and benchmark data for the Gilas Program.
Regional Director Pedro Alfaro Jr. will serve as the point person for the Zamboanga City event.
Since last year, the program was already running. They conducted rounds of Talent Identification, and our local and international youth players have already been added to the database. This initiative is a way to strengthen communication with local coaches and reach out to remote areas of the country.
This is an excellent program to support our Batang Gilas and Gilas Pilipinas Girls.
