Messages from a training participant recently reminded me why I do what I do!
There is nothing more satisfying, gratifying, and humbling for a trainer than knowing that a session did not simply end when the presentation did.
When a lesson stays with someone…
When it changes the way they think…
When it influences how they act…
When they remember something you said weeks later…
That is impact!
And moments like this bring me back to my "why"!
Because training is not merely about completing a module or delivering content.
To me, it is about being a GUIDE: helping people find direction.
It is about being a SPARK: igniting motivation.
And ultimately, it is about helping GENERATE action: turning learning into something they actually do.
So, to the participant who sent those messages: Thank you!
The greatest reward of a trainer is not applause at the end of a session. It is knowing that something you shared continues to make a difference long after the session is over.

Naisip ko lang.
Maybe it’s time we seriously consider raising the minimum qualifications for people who want to occupy government positions.
Let’s be honest. Changing voters is veeery difficult! You can educate them, inform them, fact-check for them, and show them the consequences of their choices, but maaany will still vote based on popularity, personality, family name, ayuda, or a catchy tiktok...or even budots...dance.
So...let's look at the other side. If it's difficult to get rid of stupid voters, maybe we should at least get rid of stupid candidates.
Hindi naman kailangan maging genius ang isang public servant. But if you are asking to be entrusted with millions --- or even billions --- in public funds, thousands --- or even millions --- of lives, and the future of an entire community --- or even country --- shouldn't there be a reasonable standard of competence, education, experience, integrity, and leadership?
After all, a government position is not a popularity contest with a salary and a budget.
Candidates should be able to prove that they are really qualified to lead before asking people to vote for them.
Ano sa palagay n'yo?

What a shot! 🎾
Alex Eala did not score a point after this. But sometimes, the most inspiring moments in sports aren't found on the scoreboard. They're found in the effort!
Look at that "horizontal forehand": Fully stretched. Completely committed. Holding nothing back. She laid everything on the line for just 1 point, knowing there was no guarantee of success.
As I said earlier, she didn't win the point. But she won something even more important: admiration for the kind of heart that refuses to quit.
It reminds me of a favorite quote I've known for decades: "It matters not the size of the dog in the fight. What matters is the size of the fight in the dog."
The same is true in life. Not every proposal gets approved. Not every dream or desire comes true.
Success is never guaranteed.
But giving your best is always a choice!
And in the long run, that's what champions are made of!

6️⃣0️⃣ today!
Dual citizenship unlocked: Filipino Citizen and Senior Citizen! 😁
I begin with a grateful heart --- for reaching this milestone with good health and no medical conditions to worry about! No hypertension, no high cholesterol, no diabetes... truly something I do not take for granted.
My deepest gratitude goes to my family --- my “Team G” --- to Ann (my strongest anchor), my son Jm and daughter-in-law Joy , my 3 daughters (Bea, Ana, Gianna) and two sons-in-law (Christian and Jed), and my beloved apo JK --- thank you for being my daily source of purpose, joy, and strength. And to my extended “G Force” family --- you make life richer, louder, and more meaningful!
I am also thankful for everyone who has been part of my journey --- friends and acquaintances, current and former officemates (superiors, colleagues, subordinates), former clients and business partners, former classmates and teachers, etc. You have all contributed, in one way or another, to the person I am today.
Of course, like anyone who has lived 6 decades, there are a few things I might have done differently if given another chance --- perhaps to make things even better today. But I carry no regrets. Every experience, good or challenging, has served its purpose.
As I look ahead, I remain hopeful. Despite the uncertainties and challenges around us, I choose to believe that the future can still and will be bright --- with faith, effort, and the right mindset.
Looking forward to the next chapter! 💚

Tomorrow (Feb 18) is ASH WEDNESDAY which ushers in the Lenten Season.
Based on the Code of Canon Law (Official laws that guide the Catholic Church worldwide), fasting and abstinence should be observed.
🔹 Fasting = 1 full meal for the day + 2 smaller meals that together do not equal 1 full meal
Fasting is required for Catholics 18 - 59 yrs old, except those who are sick --- on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday
🔹 Abstinence = No meat (beef, pork, chicken)
Abstinence is required for Catholics 14 years old and above --- on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays of Lent
This is not about being strict for the sake of rules. It’s about reflection, discipline, and making space for prayer and renewal during Lent.
Planuhin na ang pagkain para bukas --- baon man o order o bibili.
Let’s enter the Lenten Season with awareness and intention. 🙏

✅ "MDP 2025: LEAD Forward" Mission Accomplished! ✨
A total of 715 leaders of the company joined this nationwide learning journey called the Management Development Program! Their engagement, energy, insights, and desire to learn made every session sooo worth the effort --- even when I started feeling the effects of cumulative fatigue midway through --- right after Batch 5 in Davao. 😅
Through it all, my hope is that I was able to truly live out my mission statement: Guide (direction) • Spark (motivation) • Generate (action) --- and that every participant felt even a little of that throughout the program!
This journey would not have been possible without the people who walked with me:
🌠 Sir Dondie Bueno and Ma’am Sheree Ann Daguplo, who were present in all batches except for 2 when they had to be on an official trip abroad ➡️ Your support made everything lighter!
🌠 Mildred Santos, who handled so much of the legwork and admin requirements ➡️ BIG, BIG help! Always efficient! 💚
🌠 John Marly Candila, who was with us across all GMA and Luzon sessions to ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the venue ➡️ Always dependable!
To everyone who participated, assisted, supported, and believed in this program, thank you! You helped bring this journey to life!
And now, I officially sign off from MDP 2025.
Time to switch hats again --- this time to prepare for our Company Christmas Party and begin the groundwork for our 30th Anniversary celebrations early next year!

Over the years, I have consistently shared the programs and initiatives I lead, facilitate, organize in the workplace --- not for applause, but because I believe that visibility sparks engagement, and engagement strengthens culture. It has always been part of my commitment to help guide teams, inspire action, and create meaningful experiences across the organization --- and even beyond.
Lately, I’ve noticed that many others, including former colleagues, actively posting their activities as well.
I can’t help but smile! 😊
Not out of pride, but out of a quiet satisfaction that the value of what I have been doing aaallllll along is now being recognized and replicated. Moments like this affirm and validate my mission: Guide (direction) * Spark (motivation) * Generate (action).

Creating a personal Mission Statement is more than just putting words together --- it’s about defining your purpose.
Purpose fuels passion, passion drives motivation. When you know your why, you gain clarity in your direction and conviction in your actions.
I recently revisited my own mission statement --- a simple yet powerful play on my initials GSG: Guide (direction) – Spark (motivation) – Generate (action).
This serves as my compass in everything I do. It reminds me everyday that to live with purpose is to live with meaning.
As I continue to facilitate our Management Development Program (MDP) training series for our nearly 800 leaders nationwide, I have each participant write their own Mission Statement --- to define their why. Because when leaders lead with purpose, they inspire others to do the same.
As Simon Sinek said in his book "Start With Why": “People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.”
