Race Day Swim Start 🌊📸

Ironman 70.3 Lapulapu made the right call cutting the AG swim to 1KM — the conditions were tough, so shortening the distance made sense. But trimming the cut‑off time by 30 minutes felt unbalanced. Keeping it closer to the standard 70‑minute mark, or at least 1 hour, would’ve been more considerate. Shorter swim, yes; but athletes shouldn’t be expected to perform under almost normal race conditions with less time to finish. But yeah we get it, it wouldn’t be ironman if its easy but at least they get to experience what they signed-up ($$$)for, or at least allow them to continue to finish the entire course and use the overall cut-off time as basis.
