The Balangay Sailing Club celebrated its 7th Anniversary at Gumamela Beach through a meaningful gathering that featured the formal acceptance of First Year Cadets, the turnover of leadership, and the First Year Regatta. Guided by the theme, โA Voyage of Heritage and Growth,โ the event underscored the clubโs commitment to developing future sailors while keeping the traditions of Philippine sailing alive.
Among the highlights of the celebration were the induction of First Year Cadets into the club and the turnover ceremony, marking a new chapter of leadership with D/C Clarence Bajala assuming the position of Skipper and D/C Angelus Ortega as Vice Skipper. The occasion also served as an opportunity to recognize and honor the outgoing officers and members for their dedication, service, and invaluable contributions to the club.
The celebration concluded with the First Year Regatta, where cadets demonstrated teamwork, discipline, and sailing skills. More than a competition, the activity reflected the clubโs enduring mission of reviving the lost sailing culture, ensuring that the knowledge, traditions, and spirit of sailing continue to be passed on to future generations.
