ChiNoy Ballers League is Back, Stronger Than Ever

After three long years, roaring crowds, and intense competition is finally returning. The ChiNoy Ballers League is back for Season 3, bringing new energy, old rivalries, and a renewed spirit of reunion. After its previous seasons and conferences featured different age groups, with the last being the PCYAA Schools 23U Conference, CBL now returns with the PCYAA Alumni 29 Under Division. This season gives former PCYAA players another chance to represent their schools, reconnect with old teammates, and prove themselves once again on the hard court.

All games will be held at the Don Domingo Yu Chu Gymnasium in UNO High School, with the season opening this Sunday, July 12. The tournament will follow a single round robin elimination format, followed by knockout-style quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals. This season features six teams: PCCAAI Golden Seagulls, Goddess x KSK Uno High School, Duralite Saint Jude Catholic School, iCure Jubilee Christian Academy, Primeworld Pace Academy, and Belle x Sista Grace Christian College.

PCCAAI Golden Seagulls (PHILIPPINE CULTURAL COLLEGE)

The Golden Seagulls basketball program has always been nothing short of impressive. Since the beginning of PCYAA as a league, they have consistently ranked among the top teams, even capturing a championship in the 6th season of PCYAA. For this 29 Under squad, the foundation will once again be built on the “Grit and Grind” system of Coach Lester Del Rosario, together with his brother, Coach Patrick Joseph Del Rosario. This system is already familiar to many of the players, as they have been running it since their junior years. With discipline, toughness, and team-first basketball at the core, the Golden Seagulls enter this season with a clear identity.

This team will not be a one-man show. The Golden Seagulls are most dangerous when they move and compete as one unit. Leading the offense are their ball handlers Kurt Sy, Michael Manansala, and Jad Racal, while Patrick Sy, Jharles Uy, Kimson Tan, and Joshua Cabiltes provide the scoring punch. On the defensive end, Bryan Gadingan, Kelvin Moya, Andrew Yu, and Kyle Tung bring hustle, pressure, and suffocating defense. Adding strength and length to the lineup are John Henrich Shi, Lester Cai, Tony Dy, and Lester Fu, while young guns Cyrus Chua, Carlton Jamlig, Kenneth Lin, Krismarc Miral, and Francis Qiu complete the squad with fresh energy and hunger.

Though some teams may look past this squad and mark them as a sure win, they may quickly find themselves surprised by the heart and fighting spirit of the Golden Seagulls. Playing as one flock, they are ready to soar past formidable adversaries, and prove that they are never a team to be counted out.

Goddess x KSK (UNO HIGH SCHOOL)

UNO High School enters this conference with a major advantage, as the games will be played on their home floor at the Don Domingo Yu Chu Gymnasium. This is the same court where their players trained and grew up, making it more than just a venue for the Blue Pandas. It is their home turf. With pride on the line, UNO will surely look to protect their gym against every team that tries to conquer it.

The Blue Pandas will bring in a relatively young squad, mixed with notable seniors who helped deliver PCYAA’s first-ever championship to UNO. Leading them from the sidelines is Coach Matthew Yu, who has been with the program since PCYAA Season 1. His familiarity with the players and their long experience under his system give UNO a strong sense of chemistry, trust, and comfort heading into the season.
This squad will be led by the international experience of Batang Gilas stretch big Kyle Tan. Supporting him are Kim Tanlo, Steven Tecson, and JB Yu, who will handle the ball duties. Austin Ramos, Patrick Gotauco, Alyson Sio, and Charles Chong will provide scoring, while Ian Perez, John Bautista, and Steven Choa bring outside shooting as the team’s snipers. Adding size to the lineup are Warren Tan, Grant Sy, and Jarvis Mari, while Jozshua Healy, Marc Cheng, and Hung Tat Shi provide the critical intangibles that every winning team needs.

With home-court pride, experienced coaching, and a balanced roster, the Blue Pandas are ready to defend their territory and prove that UNO remains one of the teams to watch this season.

Duralite (Saint Jude Catholic School)

Saint Jude Catholic School is arguably the most stacked team in this conference. With a roster loaded with UAAP-level talent and guided by the system of Coach Ed Dela Torre, The Judenites immediately becomes one of the clear teams to beat this season.

Their star-studded lineup begins with big names such as Renzel Yongco of the UST Growling Tigers, Ethan Kaw, a former Ateneo Blue Eaglet and UP Maroons commit, Denzel Dagdag, a UAAP champion with the DLSU Green Archers, and Sean Bohol of the UST Tiger Cubs. With players of this caliber leading the way, Saint Jude brings experience, skill, and high-level basketball pedigree into the conference. But the strength of this team does not stop there. Supporting them are players whose names carry just as much weight in the Judenite basketball community. Maynard Yap, Mallechi Lim, and Kobe Chong were once regarded as “King Judenites,” a title that shows the respect and recognition they earned during their playing years. Adding even more depth to this already dangerous squad are Adrian Pe, Charles Sy, Joseph Metrado, Lance Chan, Martin Ang, Matthew Ang, Jared Filipino, and Josiah Filipino. To complete their dreamlike lineup, young talents Kobe Dela Cruz, Zack Sy, Joshua Chu, and Andrei Chong bring youth to this heavy squad.

With star power, depth, experience, and youth all in one roster, Saint Jude Catholic School enters the season as a powerhouse. Every team will have their eyes on them, but beating them will be a challenge few can afford to underestimate.

iCure (Jubilee Christian Academy)

Jubilee Christian Academy will not be left behind, as they enter the conference with a strong mix of talent, experience, and basketball IQ. Leading the way are Carlo Lim, a seasoned Jubilean and CSB Blazer, and the lengthy Kyle Ong, a UAAP champion with the Ateneo Blue Eagles. Guiding them will be Coach Calo Tan, a longtime member of the College of Saint Benilde coaching staff, bringing the proven “Blazer” system to this squad. Together, these three will surely bring the leadership, championship experience, and discipline that Jubilee needs to compete at the highest level.

Supporting them are also heavy hitters who can make an impact on both ends of the floor. Big man Lanz Tan will provide size and presence inside, while floor general Jacky Tiu will handle the pace and playmaking duties. Adding more experience to the lineup are seniors John Miko Cheng, Adrian Barraza, Kyle Barraza, Julian Evangelista, Miko Lim, Andrei Yu, and Angelo Lim. Completing the squad are the younger players, Kyle Chiu, John Paz, Justin Manalili, Ashton Sio, and Miguel Lim, who bring fresh energy and hunger to the team.

With high-level experience, a strong coaching system, veteran leadership, and promising youth, Jubilee Christian Academy enters the season as a team that should not be overlooked. They may not be the loudest team on paper, but their balance makes them dangerous. With players who understand winning, a coach who knows how to maximize talent, and a roster filled with both proven seniors and eager young guns, Jubilee has all the tools to make a deep run. If they can build chemistry early and fully buy into Coach Calo Tan’s system, this team can surprise many and become one of the toughest matchups in the conference.

Primeworld (Pace Academy)

Now for one of the most anticipated teams in the league, Pace Academy enters the conference with arguably the most accomplished player in PCYAA history on their roster: Shaun Geoffrey Chiu.
Standing at 6’10, Geo Chiu brings a résumé that speaks for itself. He is a three-time UAAP champion, winning twice in the collegiate division and once in the juniors division with Kai Sotto and the Ateneo Blue Eagles. He has also represented Gilas Pilipinas in both the youth and senior divisions, proving his talent on the international stage. In his professional career, Chiu began with a short stint with Taiwan Mustangs then joins Japan’s B.League Division 2 with the Ehime Orange Vikings before returning to the Philippines, where he later the Abra Solid North Weavers in the MPBL, and in September 2025, he was drafted first overall by the Terrafirma Dyip in the PBA Season 50 Draft. Now playing and contributing solid minutes in the PBA, his presence immediately makes Pace Academy one of the most dangerous teams in the conference.

But this squad is far from a one-man team. Another standout name is Kleivz Fong, a former UE Red Warrior guard who adds experience, skill, and backcourt firepower. Supporting them are “Captain” Jeff Lugay, Tyrone Tan, Dean Ong, Airick Sy, Pol Antiporda, and Anton Evangelista, all of whom bring depth and reliability to the lineup. Adding more height, strength, and interior presence are Axell Cue, Khendryle Chua, Darell Ethan Ong, Andre Sy, and Matthew Mendoza. To give the team quickness, spacing, and outside shooting, Pace Academy will also rely on Ceemone Emnace, Kelvin Ng, Gabriel Tiu, and Kyle Lao. Completing the squad are youngins Kenneth Chen, Johnson Co, and Mitchell Go.

With elite star power, professional-level experience, reliable guards, strong frontcourt pieces, and promising youth, Pace Academy enters the season with championship expectations. All eyes will be on Geo Chiu, but the real danger of this team lies in how much support surrounds him. If Pace Academy can play with chemistry and use their size, experience, and firepower the right way, they will not just be one of the most watched teams in the league. They will be one of the hardest teams to beat.

Belle x Sista (Grace Christian College)

Last but certainly not least, Grace Christian College comes in the conference with a strong and well-balanced lineup. Leading the squad is big man Harley Ching, who is currently playing for Bacolod City of Smiles in the MPBL. Alongside him are Rencobie Tolentino, a former St. Clare College of Caloocan Saint, Joshua Peter Chan, a former Batang Gilas player, and Patrick Chan, a former Ateneo Blue Eaglet. With this core, Grace immediately brings size, experience, and high-level basketball background into the tournament.

To strengthen their roster, they will also rely on seniors Ethan Casares, Patrick Lim, Justin Cua, Hans Ong, John Ing, Jacob Denzel Co, Jehrend Tauro, and Elton Zeng. Their experience and maturity will be important in giving the team stability throughout the season. Balancing out the lineup are younger players Steven Chan, Denrick Co, Jerard Chuacuco, Carlo Tan, Trevor Quan, and Marc Chua, who bring fresh legs, speed, and fighting spirit to the squad.

With a mix of proven talent, veteran support, and young players ready to make their mark, Grace Christian College has the pieces to become a serious threat this season. They may be the last team on the list, but they are definitely not a team to be taken lightly. Their combination of size, experience, and youthful energy gives them the flexibility to match up against any team in the conference. If their main core can lead with consistency and their supporting cast can step up in big moments, Grace has the potential to surprise many and make a deep run. This is a team that can play with toughness, compete with confidence, and prove that they belong among the strongest contenders in CBL Season 3.

MGC New Life Christian Academy Claims APYC U18 Championship in Ho Chi Minh City

HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam — Pilipinas MGC exacted sweet revenge on Next Gen Saigon, dominating the finals with a 61-45 victory to capture the Under-18 (U18) Division title of the Asia Pacific Youth Championship (APYC) Season 2, held at The American School from June 18 to 21, 2026.

The championship win was a complete turnaround from their preliminary meeting, where Next Gen Saigon handed Pilipinas MGC a 60-53 defeat during the elimination round.

Undeterred by the early setback, veteran head coach John Sia used the loss to motivate his squad, urging them to lock in and bounce back. Anticipating that Next Gen Saigon would be their ultimate roadblock to the crown, the coaching staff immediately went to work.

Coaches John and James Sia engineered crucial tactical adjustments ahead of the rematch, tweaking their offensive rotations and implementing a strict shadowing defense to stifle Next Gen Saigon’s perimeter shooters. Thanks to their thorough scouting, the Filipino ballers stepped onto the hardwood for the grand finale with absolute clarity on their offensive ex*****on and defensive assignments.

From the opening tip-off, Pilipinas MGC set the tone with relentless energy and a fierce hunger for redemption. Guided by the composed leadership and brilliant game planning of Coach John Sia, Pilipinas MGC steadily pulled away to seal the 16-point blowout and hoist the championship trophy.

Several Pilipinas MGC standouts were also honored with individual accolades for their stellar tournament runs:
📍Lucas Lo was named the tournament's Sixth Man of the Year for his spark off the bench.
📍Adam Uy earned a well-deserved spot in the Mythical Five.
📍Adrian Tan was crowned the U18 Tournament Most Valuable Player (MVP). Tan served as the team's most consistent anchor, particularly on the defensive end, while his versatile inside-out offensive skill set proved to be the ultimate championship difference-maker.

Reflecting on the triumph, Coach John Sia credited the victory to a collective unit. "It was a total team effort," he said, while expressing his deep gratitude to the parents who traveled and cheered for the team. "Thank you, MGC Family."

Sports Director Coach James Sia also extended his heartfelt appreciation to the parents for making the trip possible, alongside his thanks to MGC New Life Christian Academy (MGCNLCA) for backing the team's journey from day one.

"Thank you to the school administration and to all the supportive parents for backing the players and the coaching staff from the initial planning of this trip up until this championship moment," Coach James Sia remarked.

With meticulous preparation and a resilient mindset, Pilipinas MGC flies back home to the Philippines as proud international champions.
