PHI-NADO PROMOTES CLEAN SPORT DURING THE 2026 ASIA & OCEANIA SAMBO CHAMPIONSHIPS
July 3, 2026
The Philippine National Anti-Doping Organization (PHI-NADO) strengthened its commitment to clean sport through a series of education initiatives during the 2026 Asia & Oceania Sambo Championships, held at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium from June 24-28, 2026.
The week-long initiative began with an Anti-Doping Education Session for the Philippine Sambo National Team on June 24, equipping athletes and coaches with the knowledge needed to compete confidently and responsibly at the international level.
The session covered key anti-doping topics, including the current and future landscape of anti-doping in the Philippines, the importance of sports values and doping control, athletes' rights and responsibilities during testing, the risks associated with nutritional supplements, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List, the Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) application process, and the importance of the Anti-Doping Education and Learning (ADEL) platform and the Anti-Doping Administration and Management System (ADAMS).
PHI-NADO then brought anti-doping education directly to the competition venue through its Athletes' Outreach Anti-Doping Education Program, conducted from June 25-28. Throughout the four-day outreach, athletes, coaches, and athlete support personnel (ASP) visited the PHI-NADO booth to participate in interactive learning activities that promoted clean sport in an engaging and enjoyable way.
A total of 260 participants took part in the outreach program, with participation steadily increasing throughout the championships. One of the program's highlights was the Mission Card Challenge, where participants completed a series of educational activities to test their anti-doping knowledge. Those who successfully completed all required missions were recognized as Clean Sport Champions, with 25 participants earning and receiving PHI-NADO Champion Kits.
Through education, engagement, and collaboration with event organizers and stakeholders, PHI-NADO continues to empower the sporting community with the knowledge and values needed to uphold fair play and integrity in sport.
As PHI-NADO expands its education efforts across national and international competitions, it remains steadfast in its mission of building a culture where athletes can compete with confidence, knowing that true victory is achieved through dedication, honesty, and clean sport. Sambo Strong!
Play True. Play Clean. Play Fair!
