Training Workshop on Updating Guidelines on Appropriation, Release, and Planning for the Sangguniang Kabataan

The City Mayor’s Office – Local Youth Development Division (CMO-LYDD), together with the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Chairpersons and SK Kagawads, actively participated in the Training Workshop on Updating Guidelines on Appropriation, Release, and Planning, Budgeting processes for the Sangguniang Kabataan.

The training workshop aimed to enhance the knowledge and understanding of SK officials and youth development stakeholders on the updated policies, procedures, and guidelines governing SK funds, particularly on appropriation, fund release, planning, and budgeting. It also provided an opportunity for participants to clarify concerns, strengthen their financial management practices, and ensure compliance with existing government rules and regulations.

The participation of the CMO-LYDD and SK officials demonstrated the City Government’s continued commitment to strengthening the capacity of youth leaders and promoting effective, transparent, and accountable governance in the implementation of youth programs and activities.

The City Mayor’s Office – Local Youth Development Division (CMO-LYDD) actively participated in the Culmination Program of the Linggo ng Kabataan held in Barangay San Jose, Malaybalay City.

The participation of the CMO-LYDD aimed to show support and recognition for the efforts of the barangay youth and the Sangguniang Kabataan in promoting meaningful youth participation and development. The activity provided an opportunity to engage with young people, strengthen partnerships with local youth organizations and SK officials, and encourage the youth to actively participate in programs that contribute to community development.

The culmination program highlighted the talents, achievements, and active involvement of the youth of Barangay San Jose, emphasizing the important role of young people as partners in building a progressive and empowered community.

National ICT Month 2026: Cybercrime Awareness

As part of the celebration of National ICT Month 2026, the City Government of Malaybalay, conducted a Cybercrime Awareness activity participated in by various youth organizations in Malaybalay City and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Chairpersons.

The activity aimed to enhance the participants’ knowledge and awareness of cybercrime, online safety, responsible use of social media, data privacy, and other emerging digital risks. It also encouraged young people to become responsible digital citizens and advocates for a safer and more inclusive online environment.

The participation of youth organizations and SK Chairpersons provided an opportunity to strengthen youth involvement in promoting cybersecurity awareness within their respective communities. Through the activity, participants gained valuable insights and practical knowledge that they can share with their fellow youth and community members.

The activity highlighted the importance of empowering the youth with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the digital environment safely, responsibly, and effectively.

The youth of Malaybalay City actively participated in various creative and advocacy activities promoting awareness on s*xual and reproductive health, particularly the importance of practicing positive and safe s*x. The activities provided the young participants with meaningful platforms to express their creativity, talents, and advocacy through the arts.

The Malaybalay youth participated in the Contemporary Dance Contest, Canvas Painting Contest, and Short Film Contest, all of which focused on promoting positive and safe s*xual and reproductive health practices among young people.

The participants demonstrated exceptional talent and commitment, particularly in the Contemporary Dance Contest, where two groups from Malaybalay City received recognition, winning 2nd Prize and 3rd Prize, respectively. The Malaybalay youth also earned 3rd Prize in the Short Film Contest, showcasing their creativity and ability to communicate important health messages through film.

These achievements reflect not only the artistic talents of the youth but also their willingness to use their skills and creativity to promote responsible decision-making, healthy relationships, and awareness of s*xual and reproductive health. Their active participation and accomplishments serve as an inspiration to other young people to become advocates for positive health practices and meaningful community engagement.

The S*xual and Reproductive Health: Positive Safe S*x Forum was successfully conducted with the active participation of the youth of Malaybalay City. The forum aimed to enhance young people’s knowledge and understanding of s*xual and reproductive health by promoting informed decision-making, responsible behavior, and healthy relationships.

The activity provided a safe, respectful, and youth-friendly environment where participants learned about the importance of practicing safe s*x, preventing s*xually transmitted infections (STIs), addressing teenage pregnancy, understanding consent, and accessing available reproductive health services. Resource speakers encouraged open dialogue, addressed common misconceptions, and emphasized the value of respect, responsibility, and self-awareness in making healthy life choices.
