Louie Alas has officially been appointed as the interim head coach of the Ateneo Men’s Basketball Team (AMBT). 💙🦅

As the University continues to cooperate with the ongoing investigations into the deaths of student-athletes Rene Clert Baterbonia and Chukwuemeka “Divine” Adili, the AMBT has suspended its participation in tournaments and training camps. In the meantime, the team will continue with conditioning and individual preparations.

The players are also scheduled to undergo physical examinations in the coming week as they prepare for the start of the academic year in August.

Notably, Louie Alas was not present during the Dipaculao, Aurora training camp where the tragic incident occurred.

Dumalo si Kris Anjeli Librero sa Senate hearing kaugnay ng Aurora tragedy at nagbigay ng kanyang testimonya tungkol sa naging rescue operations noong June 8.

Napuno ng mga bulaklak ang puntod ng Ateneo student-athlete na si Rene “Bobet” Baterbonia habang ginugunita ng pamilya, mga kaibigan, teammates, at mga sumusuporta sa kanya ang unang buwan mula nang siya’y pumanaw.

Si Baterbonia at ang kanyang teammate na si Divine Adili ay nasawi matapos malunod sa isinagawang Ateneo Blue Eagles team-building activity sa Dipaculao, Aurora.
