On April 15, 2026, BTLE-AFA 3 students from PNU South Luzon conducted their culminating activity in Animal Growth and Production 2 (Swine) with the theme, “From Farm to Feast: Best Practices in Pig Slaughter.” The activity was held from 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM near the PNUSL Gymnasium.
The activity aimed to give students actual experience in proper pig slaughtering. Some may find it challenging, but it helped us learn the correct process, proper handling, and the importance of food safety and animal welfare.
With the guidance of Mr. Enrico Ilustre, our resource person and the help of Ms. Erica Ilustre, the learnings from textbooks came alive.
The activity included five (5) parts:
Part I: Pig Slaughtering
Part II: Ear Notching
Part III: Identification of Meat Cuts
Part IV: Culinary Application and Dish Presentation
Part V: Boodle Fight
Learning by doing another step closer to becoming future educators in Agri-Fishery Arts! 🐖💪
