We were never meant to walk the journey of faith alone.
Having a pastoral leader or mentor can give us guidance, wisdom, encouragement, and someone who can help us see what we sometimes cannot see for ourselves.
In this episode of Droplets of Faith, I’m joined by my pastoral leader from Ligaya ng Panginoon, Bro. Svahn Rivas, as we talk about the importance of having someone walk with us in our faith journey. 🤍

John 1:45-51
Philip found Nathanael, and said to him, "We have found him of whom Moses in the law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph." Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see." Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and said of him, "Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!" Nathanael said to him, "How do you know me?" Jesus answered him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you." Nathanael answered him, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!" Jesus answered him, "Because I said to you, I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You shall see greater things than these." And he said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man."

THE INVISIBLE OPPONENT #7: IMPOSTOR SYNDROME
Sometimes, everyone else seems to see your potential…
except you.
✔️ You train.
✔️ You improve.
✔️ You keep stepping into bigger challenges.
Yet a voice inside still asks:
“𝘈𝘮 𝘐 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩?”
“𝘉𝘢𝘬𝘢 𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘢 𝘢𝘬𝘰 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘰.”
“𝘔𝘢𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘢. 𝘈𝘯𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘸𝘢 𝘬𝘰 𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘰?”
🚨 That’s 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗲.
It’s when your mind questions whether you deserve to be where you are… even when your effort & progress say otherwise.
And you don’t need a medal to experience it.
It can happen to the beginner training with the group.
Or the athlete preparing for their first competition.
👉🏼 Athletes: Don’t wait until you feel “good enough” before believing you belong. Keep learning. Keep showing up. Keep growing.
👉🏼 Coaches: The athlete working hardest may also be the one quietly wondering if they deserve to be there. Help them recognize their progress, not just their performance.
Doubt is a feeling.
You can doubt yourself and still be capable.
You’re NOT faking it. YOU’RE STILL BECOMING IT. 💯

John 12:24-26
Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If any one serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there shall my servant be also; if any one serves me, the Father will honor him.

Matthew 15:21-28
And Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and cried, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely possessed by a demon." But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, "Send her away, for she is crying after us." He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." But she came and knelt before him, saying, "Lord, help me." And he answered, "It is not fair to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs." She said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table." Then Jesus answered her, "O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire." And her daughter was healed instantly.

Reality is… No matter how many medals you win… your brain will always find someone who’s better than you.
Yup! That’s the trap.
👉🏼 You make the team…
…then you compare yourself to others.
🏅 You win a medal…
…but you compare yourself to the gold medalist.
🏆 You become a national champion…
…but you compare yourself to international athletes.
The comparison never ends.
This is called 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻.
Sure! Sometimes it motivates you. But more often, it makes you forget how far you’ve already come.
Because no matter how hard you work…
There will always be someone faster.
Stronger. More experienced.
If your confidence depends on being ahead of everyone else… You’ll never feel like you’re enough.
The athlete you’re chasing will always change.
The athlete you’re becoming is the one that matters.
That’s the difference a strong mind makes. 🧠
Everyone is fighting battles you may never see.
A kind word, a patient heart, or a simple act of compassion can make a bigger difference than you realize.
Be kind. You never know what someone is carrying. 🤍

Matthew 15:1-2, 10-14
Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said, "Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands before they eat." Then he called the crowd to him and said to them, "Listen and understand: it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but it is what comes out of the mouth that defiles." Then the disciples approached and said to him, "Do you know that the Pharisees took offense when they heard what you said?" He answered, "Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if one blind person guides another, both will fall into a pit."

GOSPEL
Matthew 14:13-21
Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a lonely place apart. But when the crowds heard it, they followed him on foot from the towns. As he went ashore he saw a great throng; and he had compassion on them, and healed their sick. When it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, "This is a lonely place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves." Jesus said, "They need not go away; you give them something to eat." They said to him, "We have only five loaves here and two fish." And he said, "Bring them here to me." Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass; and taking the five loaves and the two fish he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces left over. And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children.
