One of the most common questions we get at the gym: "How many sets and reps should I do?"
The answer depends on what you're training for, and yes, it actually makes a big difference!
If you want to get stronger, keep your reps low and your weights heavy. If you're going for muscle size, that sweet spot is usually 8 to 12 reps with moderate weight. And if endurance is your goal, higher reps with lighter weight is the way to go.
The key thing to remember is this: your reps and sets should match your goal. Doing 20 reps when you want to build strength, or lifting super heavy when you want endurance, will slow down your progress.
Start with the range that fits your goal, be consistent with it for a few weeks, and then adjust from there. Small tweaks over time add up to big results.
