Every basketball court has a story to tell. Through the Youth Basketball for Peace Programme, young athletes, referees, coaches, volunteers, parents, and community leaders have found a common purpose.

From barangay basketball clinics and officiating workshops to leadership seminars and safety and security training, participants discovered that basketball is not only about winning games—it is about developing discipline, respect, teamwork, accountability, and community responsibility.

Young participants learned that wearing a jersey represents commitment, while holding a whistle symbolizes fairness, integrity, and leadership.

These stories continue to inspire communities across the Visayas, proving that sports can change lives both inside and outside the court

The YBP Programme is a part of the SouthEast Asian Youth Crime Prevention (SYCP) Initiatives initiated by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Agence Française de Développement (AFD), delivered by the Alliance of Sport in Criminal Justice (AoS).

In the Philippines, it is implemented through the partnership of University of San Jose–Recoletos (USJ-R), Visayas Technical Officials Region VII (VISTECH Region VII), and Velez College Research Office in collaboration with national and local stakeholders committed to youth development and safer communities.
