Between Seasons: Becoming — A Solo Exhibition by Jovelle Mae Jaca

Cebu City, Philippines — Artist Jovelle Mae Jaca unveils her first solo exhibition, Between Seasons: Becoming, at LYF Cebu City — a heartfelt celebration of transformation, courage, and creative rebirth. Opened lastJuly 18, which also marks her birthday, the exhibition invites art collectors and enthusiasts to witness a deeply personal journey of becoming — from the defined “seasons” of life to the fluid, authentic rhythm of artistry and motherhood.

Jaca’s works explore transitions — the quiet strength of womanhood, the grace of surrender, and the fire of rediscovery. Each painting embodies her evolution from corporate to art teacher and muralist to full-time artist, capturing the emotional landscapes that accompany growth and faith. Her visual language blends surreal symbolism and feminine energy, offering collectors pieces that speak to resilience and renewal.

LYF Cebu City holds special meaning for Jaca. It was here that she first painted her outdoor mural and helped install the iconic origami sharks — milestones that shaped her artistic identity. Now, returning to LYF as a full-time artist, she transforms the space into a sanctuary of introspection and color, where every canvas tells a story of becoming.

Alongside the exhibition, Jaca launched the “Brushstrokes of Becoming” Painting Workshop, a progressive art program open to children and adults. The workshop nurtures creativity through guided instruction, complete art materials, and a take-home experience that connects participants to the artist’s philosophy of growth through art.
