โ€Ž๐—ฆ๐—ฃ๐—ข๐—ฅ๐—ง๐—ฆ ๐—™๐—˜๐—”๐—ง๐—จ๐—ฅ๐—˜ | INTO THE DRIFT: Bella Caรฑeteโ€™s Place on the Track

โ€Ž
โ€ŽBefore the engine roars and the tires begin to smoke, Jannah Isabella โ€œBellaโ€ Celestine Krabbe-Caรฑete already knows what she has to prove. In a sport where men fill much of the grid, the 14-year-old Filipina driver has learned that earning a place behind the wheel means fighting for it every time she enters the track.
โ€Ž
โ€Ž
โ€ŽBella never liked Barbie dollsโ€”she liked cars. From the age of four, she showed a clear preference for speed and machinery over traditional pastimes. The heart of her story lies in the disciplined upbringing that forged her character. Joni Caรฑete, Bellaโ€™s mother, said, โ€œDonโ€™t let their gender be their limitation. If you are capable, you can try.โ€ Joni supported her daughter all the way, as long as the risks of her sport were mitigated. โ€œYou donโ€™t force what you want with her. It might be a success, but it might not be the success she wants,โ€ she also said.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThis early spark of passion was nurtured in a household that placed high value on accountability and structure. Her parents implemented a firm reward system where academic performance was inextricably linked to her motorsport pursuits. A failing grade meant a pause on racing, ensuring that her focus remained sharp both in the classroom and on the circuit.
โ€Ž

โ€Ž
โ€ŽAt a young age, Bella has already made her mark beyond the Philippines, rising through the Indonesian Drift Series and collecting major wins in the Womenโ€™s Drift Challenge and NewGen categories. She became a five-time Womenโ€™s Drift Challenge Pro-Am champion and earned multiple IDS NewGen titles, while also recording a perfect 100-point qualifying score and a Best Qualifying Run. In 2026, she added another milestone by winning the Pro2 Championship at R33 Motorsports Fest 2, becoming the youngest female driver to achieve the feat in Philippine drifting. Her success has made her one of Asiaโ€™s most promising young drifters, but for Bella, the race is about more than trophies.
โ€Ž
โ€Žโ€œI think I have to prove myself twice because Iโ€™m young and because Iโ€™m a girl, but once the helmet is on and the visor is down, none of that matters anymore. Iโ€™m a driver. Thatโ€™s it. Itโ€™s just me, the car, and the track,โ€ she said.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThat mindset has become her answer to a sport where age and gender can easily become labels before a driver even gets the chance to compete. Once the visor drops, Bella does not see herself as the youngest girl on the grid, but as another driver chasing the perfect line and making every run count.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽHer success has also placed her beside bigger names and earned her the label of a trailblazer for young Filipinas in motorsport. Bella sees the honor, but she also knows there is still a long road ahead.
โ€Ž
โ€Žโ€œItโ€™s a huge honor, but itโ€™s a little surreal to hear my name next to someone like Ate Bianca, because sheโ€™s already out there on a much bigger stage, and I hope I get to be on a bigger stage too someday, one step at a time,โ€ she said.
โ€Ž
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThis sense of responsibility did not stop at her own achievements. It extended into a profound commitment to her community. Since she was three years old, Bella has been exposed to the realities of life in orphanages and underserved communities. This long-standing awareness blossomed into concrete advocacy with the launch of "AccelHERate Onward." Under this advocacy, one of its initiatives, "A Paper Drive," founded in 2023 alongside Joni Caรฑete, Esther Silveira, and Chrisha Ganuelas, is designed to inspire and support the academic journeys of students who lack access to essential school supplies. The program started with 17 students and grew to almost 150 students in 2025 with the help of generous supporters.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽAdditionally, her efforts include serving as a youth ambassador and volunteer for "Share Your Spare Singapore," a non-profit organization founded by a Filipino in Singapore, Adrian Soco (also known as Ninong Bokyo), which is aimed at building toy libraries in the Philippines. For Bella, the thrill of the race is never detached from this mission, as 20% of all support she receives in her motorsports career is directly funneled into these humanitarian programs. It is a powerful testament to the young driver. For Bella, the checkered flag is not just a personal victory, it is a contribution to a wider finish line.
โ€Ž
โ€Ž
โ€Žโ€œI want people to remember that I didnโ€™t wait for permission to belong in this sport. Like any other athlete, I train, I show up, I work hard, and I let my driving speak,โ€ Bella said.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe pressure of being a role model is real, but Bella has chosen to turn it into fuel. She races not only for herself and the people who started with her, but also for the younger girls watching her prove that they can belong in places where they may not see many people like themselves.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽFor the young Filipina, the finish line is not the end of the story. Whether she wins or fails, she plans to keep getting back behind the wheel, because every mistake has something to teach and every step brings her closer to the bigger stage she dreams of.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽAs she puts it, โ€œI want to be remembered as proof that this path is possible on and off the track.โ€
