The Philippines is famous for its hospitality, but hospitality should never be mistaken for weakness.

Those who come here and behave like this don't deserve a welcome — they deserve immigration's big boot up their arse to assist them back home.

Putting Camiguin on the Impact Map 🌊♻️

Every time I dived to 30m, I saw debris caught in the reef and thought, "I need to do something about that."

The opportunity came when another instructor and a DM wanted to fun dive. "Sure," I said, "can we take these sacks down with us?" Of course they agreed.

After the dive, I sorted the rubbish and submitted the data to PADI AWARE's Dive Against Debris programme.

It surprised me that this was the first Dive Against Debris survey submitted from Camiguin Island - but it won’t be the last.

By submitting clean-up data, divers help scientists and policy makers track marine debris and protect our oceans 🌏💙.
