A fun and educational training week for the next batch of young marines.. Can you believe these guys are younger than the first fins that I bought with my own money after my 1st ever Tubbataha Raket in the early 2000s... As i keep reminding, the open water course is just your entry to a beautiful world that only a few people can actually see and experience but this world is threatened, and with young ones like you who prefer this route than the quick get-rich scheme that the world imposes, I am confident that there is still hope for our marine ecosystems. Keep diving buddies!

Spotlight on the little critter that is making a big difference in our oceans. Coral reefs are merely colonies of tiny individual coral polyps that form these different rock-like structures that look like branches, brains, fans, and may be hard, soft, wiry, and flowery. And colonies and colonies of this little coral polyp emerges the only animal-made structure visible in space, the coral reef. In celebration of the World Reef Awareness Day, here is an image of a simple colonies of life. Do take care of our ocean, and it will take care of us.

From white sand to white sand, from the reefs of Agutayan Island in Jasaan to the reefs of Mantigue Island in Camiguin, ending 2025 and starting 2026 with epic dives in Misamis Oriental, Northern Mindanao with this bunch of jovial divers... May 2026 be a more diving, less stress year for all of us... And if you are not a diver yet, perhaps its time to consider taking the course as studies have shown that diving reduces stress... Just look at the stress-free faces of the diver in the photos from 2025 to 2026 and it looked like we didnt even age a day...😁😁😁
