The Jiu-Jitsu Guy Who Thinks He’s a Beast! ❤️
We all know this guy.
Three months ago he was asking where to buy a mouthguard. Today he has somehow transformed into a self-appointed combat philosopher whose entire personality revolves around a Tuesday night hobby.
After surviving exactly one round against a new white belt, he immediately updates his Instagram bio to include words like “warrior,” “lion,” “beast mode,” and “forged by adversity.”
Training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu twice a week in an air-conditioned gym does not make you an apex predator. It officially makes you an office worker, a student, a business man who changes into pajamas after work and wrestles other consenting adults for an hour before discussing where to eat dinner.
You genuinely believe you are preparing for battle because you watched three instructionals, drank pre-workout, and posted a black-and-white photo of yourself staring at the floor. Meanwhile, the brutal reality is that your greatest opponent this week was finding matching socks and remembering to pay your internet bill.
Watching you describe a local grappling tournament with six competitors as a “war” is an absolute masterclass in recreational athletic delusion. You did not storm the beaches of Normandy. You lost by advantages to an accountant from the neighboring town.
The funniest part is that the mats don’t care.
The 50-year-old hobbyist with bad knees will still strangle you.
The skinny purple belt who looks like he hasn’t lifted a weight in his life will still fold you into a travel-sized backpack.
And the new guy you were giving unsolicited advice to last month might tap you next month.
So put the motivational quote away, stop referring to every training session as a battlefield, and accept the beautiful truth:
Most of us are just regular people pretending to fight in expensive pajamas.
And honestly, that’s perfectly fine.
Train hard. Tap often. Laugh when you get swept.
Because nobody remembers who acted like a beast.
Everyone remembers who was a good training partner.

Watching the kids step onto the competition mats, face their fears, and give their best effort made us proud beyond words. Every match was a lesson, every challenge an opportunity to grow.
A huge thank you to our parents for their unwavering support, encouragement, and sacrifices; to our coaches for their guidance, patience, and dedication; and to our teammates for cheering each other on every step of the way. Success in Jiu-Jitsu is never achieved alone, it takes a team behind every athlete.
Keep training, keep believing, and keep enjoying the journey. Back to the lab. 🥋

The Men Who Think They Can Just “Power Through” Women’s jiujitsu.
Nothing is more entertaining than watching a grown man walk onto the mats convinced that years of carrying groceries and winning Facebook arguments have prepared him for jiujitsu.
Three minutes later he’s trapped under a woman half his size, questioning every life decision that brought him there.
The reality is simple: women don’t train jiujitsu to be treated gently. They train to learn, compete, improve, and occasionally serve a healthy dose of humility to oversized egos.
And for the predators and abusers who think rank, strength, or popularity gives them a free pass:
Wrong gym. Wrong sport. Wrong century.
Respect isn’t a special privilege women earn on the mats. It’s the minimum requirement for stepping on them. Common sense, unfortunately, remains the rarest belt in BJJ.

Changing your Jiu-Jitsu mindset.
Instead of complaining about warm ups… just say OSS!
Instead of asking too many questions during drills… just say OSS!
Instead of making excuses because you are tired from work… just say OSS!
Instead of skipping class because you are “too busy”… just say OSS!
Wife wants you to stay home because you still need to teach your son math? Just say OSS… and somehow make it to training anyway.
Life becomes less complicated when you stop overthinking and just say OSS!
Congratulations to the newly promoted!
