Six months down. Six to go.

In sports, halftime isn't about celebrating the score or sulking over it.

It's about adjustment. The coach doesn't just ask, "𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘸𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺?" He also asks, "𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘰 𝘸𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘧?"

Same with this year.

Maybe 𝘑𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘺-𝘺𝘰𝘶 had a plan that 𝘑𝘶𝘯𝘦-𝘺𝘰𝘶 didn't fully execute.

Maybe some goals shifted, some doors closed, and some prayers got answered differently than expected.

That's not failure. That's data.

The first half doesn't decide the game. What you do with the adjustment does.

So here's my halftime question for you: 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘧, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘨𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘵, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺?

Lead with purpose. Live with faith.

Talent may get you noticed. Character keeps you trusted. 💯

Learn to communicate well. Here is a simple tip: Anything you say before the word “but” often gets erased. “But” can cancel the kindness, weaken the apology, and shift the focus from ownership to excuse-making. When someone says, “I am sorry, but the reason why…” the apology begins to lose its weight. The listener does not hear remorse. They hear defense. Choose your conjunctions carefully. Replace “but” with “and” when possible. “I am sorry, and I will do better.” That sounds different, feels different and builds trust. Effective leaders communicate effectively. That is just the way it is.
