As the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 in Brazil draws closer, we celebrate women in football, from national-team players to young aspirants working toward their own dreams.

Meet 𝐆𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞 𝐍. 𝐋𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠, one of the many aspiring players helping shape the future of Philippine women’s football. The 21-year-old midfielder and forward from 𝐂𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐞 𝐎𝐫𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 currently represents Higala FC and the Xavier University Women’s Football Team.

Gail began playing at age 10 after watching football highlights on television. Her mother later enrolled her at 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐚 𝐅𝐂, where her journey in the beautiful game officially started. Her dream is to win a national tournament.
