Xavier Ateneo - Men’s Basketball Team

Last July 4–5 2026, the Xavier University Men’s Basketball Team traveled to Medina for an exhibition game against Liceo de Cagayan University as part of the 10th Ginataan Festival celebration.

Beyond the game, we are truly grateful for the people who made our stay memorable.

Our heartfelt gratitude to the LGU of Medina, under the leadership of Mayor Marriane Lloren Chan, as well as to the event organizer, Mr. Frederick Docdoc, and Mr. & Mrs. Gary Nagandang, for their support, especially with our transportation.

A special thank you to Hon. Scott Johnson Almonia, who took care of our team throughout our stay and everything in between. Your time, effort, and genuine care for the team are deeply appreciated.

And to the people of Medina, thank you for the warm welcome! Your relaxing atmosphere, lively community, and genuine hospitality made our stay truly memorable.

𝗦𝗢𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗥𝗢, 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗠 𝗪𝗘𝗟𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘. 💙🏀

Last June 16-18, 2026, the Xavier University Men’s Basketball Team had the opportunity to compete in Socorro against UC, San Carlos, and PCF. While we may not have gotten the results we hoped for, we remain grateful for the experience and, most importantly, for the people who welcomed us with open arms.

Our deepest gratitude to the people of Socorro, led by Mayor Riza Rafonselle Taruc-Timcang, for the warm welcome and hospitality.

A special thank you to the Lazarte & Pelias Family, especially Mr. Gerson Pelias, who warmly hosted our team and opened their home to us throughout our stay. A fellow Xavier University alumnus and a former beneficiary of CocoFed during Fr. Masterson’s time in Manresa, Sir Gerson’s generosity and connection to the Xavier community made our stay even more meaningful.

To everyone who generously shared their time and prepared meals for our team, SB Member Akim, SB Member Alex, Madam Ayen, Doc Nikki Vertical, Grace Paitan, Mark Portillo, Ozing Dacera, SB Member Eme/Kris Mante, Kap Lorcy-Atty. KC, Engr. Elpie/Ivy, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. & Mrs. Gary Nagandang for safely driving our van throughout the entire journey. We deeply appreciate your time, dedication, and assistance in ensuring our safe and comfortable transportation to and from Socorro.

Socorro truly left a mark on us, not only because of its breathtaking beauty and incredibly clean waters, but more importantly, because of the kindness, generosity, and warmth of its people.

A hard-fought 74–73 victory over PCF in our invitational game during the 97th Araw ng Kinoguitan!

After leading by as much as 10 points, PCF made a strong push to take the lead, but our team kept their composure and held on until the final buzzer. A great bounce-back after the heartbreaking championship loss to PCF in Claveria last month.

Congratulations to the whole team for the fight and composure!

Last May 27, 2026, the Xavier University Men’s Basketball Team successfully conducted a Basketball Clinic at Golden Glow Village (GGV).

To all the young athletes who joined us, thank you for your enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. We hope we were able to share not only basketball skills but also valuable lessons that you can carry both on and off the court.

To all the parents, thank you for your trust and support, and for taking the time to bring your children to this meaningful experience.

Our heartfelt gratitude to the Golden Glow Village Community, especially Engr. Rey Francisco, for hosting and warmly welcoming our team. Thank you for making this initiative possible, and we look forward to conducting more basketball clinics in your community in the future.

To our XUMBT players and coaches, thank you for giving your time and sharing your passion with the next generation of athletes. Your commitment to giving back to the community truly reflects what it means to be Men for Others.

To all the young athletes who joined us, thank you for your energy, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn. We hope you enjoyed the experience and picked up lessons that will help you both on and off the court.

To all the parents, thank you for your trust and support, and for bringing your children to be part of this memorable day.

We also extend our sincere thanks to the Morning Mist Village Community, especially Ma'am Michelle B. Ilisan, for welcoming and accommodating our team throughout the day. Your kindness and hospitality meant a lot to us, and we hope to return for more clinics in the future.

The Xavier University Men’s Basketball Team secured the 1st Runner-Up finish in the 1st Mayor RS Doki Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament 2026.

After four hard-fought quarters, our Crusaders gave everything they had but came up just short in the championship game. While the battle stayed on the court, sportsmanship prevailed after the final buzzer.

Congratulations to Philippine College Foundation (PCF) on a well-deserved championship. 👏
