SK is t he youth council in every barangay and knew for kabataang barangay council.

the sangguniang kabataan is composed of elective youth officials in the barangay headed by the SK Chairman and 7 SK Kagawads. The powers and functions of the SK is embodied in Section426 of the Local government code of 1991. it is also an special body of the government for the purposes of mobilizing the youth and eliciting their participation in the affairs of the country. it serves as a training ground for future leaders and provides representation for the youth in the local government.
