BALIK PROBINSYA STORIES | The Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa Program (BP2) aims to provide hope for a better future for Filipinos through equity in resources throughout the country that will boost countryside development. The DA is one of the key implementers of the program that provides beneficiaries an opportunity to engage in agribusiness and farm diversification practices.

One of the beneficiaries of this program is Florencio. A job loss due to the pandemic diverted him back to his hometown to start anew. With the vegetable production training module he received, he can now go further in agriculture and contribute to achieving a food-secured San Agustin.

Ms. Jelma M. Abajar, local BP2 beneficiary, member of Bunga Samahang Nayon Multi-purpose Cooperative (BUSANAMCO) AMIA Village was celebrating her abundant harvest.

BUSANAMCO AMIA village in Barangay Bunga, Lanuza, Surigao del Sur is one of the reintegration site of the BP2 beneficiaries.

Happening Now:
Conduct of CY 2022 2nd Quarter joint meeting of AMIA and BP2 program. Headed by Chief Abel F. Wagas, AMIA & BP2 project leader participated by AMIA & BP2 TWG members and staffs. The activity highlights the presentation and assessment of projects accomplishment conducted in the 1st semester of the year, and also discussion of the 2nd semester activities and catch up plan.

Production Training on mushroom, vegetable and free range chicken to AMIA Villages in municipality of Lanuza, as reintegration site to future BP2 beneficiaries in the province of Surigao del Sur.

Conducted last March 3-4, 2022.

The Department of Agriculture-Caraga, through Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa (BP2) program and Adaptation and Mitigation Initiative in Agriculture (AMIA) Project, conducted a series of training/seminars on Poultry (duck and free range chicken), vegetable, and mushroom production to the local BP2 beneficiaries/AMIA Villages prior to the distribution of modules.

Under the program, existing AMIA Villages in the Region will serve as reintegration sites for incoming BP2 beneficiaries in the future that would welcome them and allow them to integrate into their community and participate in climate-resilient livelihoods and enterprise.

For the province of Agusan del Norte, the AMIA Villages in the municipality of Jabonga, will serve as reintegration sites to future BP2 beneficiaries in the said province.

The 2 days training/seminar was conducted last March 1-2, 2022 in Jabonga, Agusan del Norte.
